Hi, recently been selling a lot of stuff on Ebay, got 100% feedback so far and not had any hassle, until now.....

Sold a pair of ladies shoes to a girl last Friday. Day after she wins the bidding on them she PM's me to say she'll pay for them soon and that shes desperate to receive them by Wednesday of this week so she can wear them to a gig.

So, first she asked me to add a 24hr next day delivery option, which i did. Then she asks me if i would send her them and she would pay me within a couple of days, i told her i wouldnt do it as she only had (1) feedback.

So finally on Monday afternoon she pays for them with second class postage and PM's me asking for them sent 24HR next day delivery! She only paid for second class but she seemed pretty desperate to get them so as soon as she paid i rushed straight out to the Post Office and posted them First Class which left ME out of pocket.

Then she sends me an email asking to get them delivered to a different address! I told her it was too late as i'd just sent them away to her shipping address supplied to me by both Ebay and paypal.
She then tells me that shes no longer at that address despite only opening her Ebay account 15 days earlier using that address.
She then says that paypal was registered to her new address and i was full of b/s to which i posted a screenshot of the email paypal had sent me showing the address to which i posted the stuff to.

Now though she has made a claim against me via paypal, who have taken the money back out of my account. Ive explained my side of the story to paypal but now their asking for a tracking number which i cant give them because it wasnt sent recorded delivery.

So what can i do now....????

If you can't prove that you've sent them, she'll probably get the money refunded.
Always send stuff Recorded Delivery. For 75p extra, it's worth the peace of mind.

Easy to get round this one, send a dummy package to registered address to get a tracking number,

So i'm gonna have to refund her then? Shes getting the item free then plus gonna hit me with a bad feedback?

i know two wrongs dont make a right - but I would do that too.

Sorry to say that as you don't have recorded delivery you will not win the Paypal claim. However, it does not mean that you cannot make a Royal Mail claim so long as you have the (free) proof of postage certificate issued by the Post Office at the time of posting.
I would consider sending a letter 'To the householder' at the address stated, explain the story and ask for them to send them back - no harm in trying.

Hmmm, she said in one message 'hope the person doesnt steal them' then after i queried why she used that address she said she might move back in there but is having personal problems which roughly translates to shes just split from her partner who probably has the shoes and shes too scared to go asking for them.

What about if i send a letter by recorded delivery asking the householder to send them to the girl?

Could i then post the tracking number to paypal and get away with it?

paypal are a waste of time if you sell, if you buy however, happy days!

I don't think it'd be a good idea to send a letter recorded and give paypal the tracking number to imply that was the original package, the weight wouldn't correspond, you have already told paypal your side of the story so that would conflict,

I'd say go with a claim for non delivery using your proof of postage, but I'd also tell the buyer royalmail will be investigating her ebay registered addy for missing parcels etc,

Also check what other items she's bought lately to see if she's trying the same trick with others

Surely if you post a dummy rec delivery it will have tomorrows date on?Ie sent after you have had dispuit raised against you
