Just bought an Amazon Voucher on E-Bay at a more than great price and paid through paypal.
it was a UK seller which is the reason i bid on it,but could i lose my money if he does not send code or sends a used code?
Or am i fully covered?
Thanks all.

as far as im aware they dont cover vouchers.

Not covered for vouchers

I wouldnt hold your breath. I bought an item listed as "new" which was "used" on receipt and both paypal and ebay did nothing to protect me as the buyer, and did nothing to the seller

What price did you pay?

Item number?

if its an e-voucher i.e. code rather than a physical voucher (as its amazon it will be) you won't be protected, its in paypals t & cs so if you had read them you would know

As payment came from my Credit Card i guess i will just reclaim from that if PayPal does not help.

It is also a Physical Voucher.

Why?

Why?

If you have just bought it then phone paypal & tell them what's happened & they will cancel the payment for you before the seller gets the money.

Sorry, just can`t understand how giving you that info could possibly help me.

Is it this one? Item number: 220800404675

Wow you got a bargain if it works out for you, let us know if you ever get your voucher?

Ok, don't bother then. If it was the £150 for £89 you're probably screwed.

That's the one. New ebayer, all their feedback within the last few days. Not looking good imho but you never know.

If it's this seller he has sold the same phone for £90 on at least 3 occasions.

Just had a look and its says it will be emailed to winning bidder within a few hours of ending ,not a voucher to be posted out .
Good luck and hope you get it btw .

Im not an expert on credit card protection, but i believe they should cover you as it would be a case of fraud, wait and see i guess and good luck

Its not fraud [as any claim would be against Paypal, not the seller], it would be a case of goods not received/satisfactory, and card companies aren't oblidged to cover purchases under £100 (although many do as a goodwill gesture).

Saved me a bit of typing there mate

Also if the card company did do a charge-back, paypal would put the ops account into negative balance and start legal proceedings to reclaim the debt.

Yeah,i thought so too!
Just got a message from him....
Dear 1616french,

Hi I'm currently at work as soon as I get home I will send the code

- tr***********cr11

suppose i`ll find out later.

Original Poster

Just an update...
Rang PayPal and E-Bay and although they state they do not cover you against loss for these items they feel on this occasion that there are grounds for reclaiming the money back.
The fact that he has not even attempted to send the code is the reason for this.

To be honest if he was a scammer he's not a very good one. I'd give him time to deliver before jumping the gun.

Not been 24 hours yet and if he genuinely is at work would explain why it hasn't been sent yet.

Hope if he does deliver you apologise and link him to this page.

You were pointing the finger [by making this thread] not even half an hour after this auction ended so.... I don't think you cared about the three hours.

Friday night out up for work the next morning so may not have had time to deal with it, shouldn't have ended the auction at that time maybe but give him 48 hours I'd say.
