    Paypal Gift

    I tried to use Paypal gift for the first time today for something I purchased on here.
    I wasnt given the option to pay using my bank account, I could only use credit/debit card or e-cheque through my bank, so opted to pay the fees myself (only 60p so not a problem).
    Has anybody else had this problem?
    I've e-mailed Paypal but dont hold out too much hope there!

    I thought that but i've been told that's not the case

    I've made paypal personal payments where the funds have come from my bank a/c and no fees had to be paid - have you definitely registered your bank details?

    When you've registered (verified) your bank account they will put 2 small deposits in it (say 5p and 8p) which you have to confirm to them to prove it is you and your account. Should be ok after that.

    Yeah been through the process, never had a problem with it before, just never tried to use the paypal gift.

    Just had an e-mail from Paypal, now i'm totally clueless!!

    As I reviewed your account, there is nothing wrong with it. It’s just that
    during the time you are making transaction, there was interference in the
    connection, which activates our Risk Model to protect your financial
    details so that no one can steal this information.

    In cases like this our Risk model activates automatically on the sender's
    end. This internal security system is the same computer program that is
    used by banks and credit card companies to determine if a money transfer
    request has a high risk of failure or have potential problems attached with
    it. Possible could be someone hacking the line used or other potential
    reasons which we cannot determine automatically. When this risk model
    activates it does not allow you to use your bank so that no financial
    information can be acquired by anyone.

    You may try to make a payment either late afternoon or by next day.

    I know it is very frustrating, however we do not have control over this
    particular matter. If only I can override this I would but this is for the
    own good of each PayPal users to secure and eliminate fraudulent
    transaction and stolen identities. I hope you understand our concern to
    protect each and every account's safety.

    Sorry mate, as long as your account is verified it should be fine.

    They are a bit weird. Once I bought stuff off ebay normally and it went to the sellers as an e-cheque which took 10 days to clear!

    I have exactly the same problem! Have some cash in Paypal AC and a verified and live Bank AC linked to it.

    worked fine the other day - tried today and it will send but only by Credit card and my bank AC is greyed out...
    only problem is this will charge me.. and guess who profits? Paypal.

    They charge you for getting ripped off and then they try to force you to use CC so they can make more money off you. Paypal protection my @rse!

    Wish someone else comes along to compete with these leeches!
    (you can guess im peeved with them)

    If you have actual funds in your account it should take those funds first unless you select another option.

    Maybe its a glitch

    Try tomorrow perhaps.
