PayPal restricted my account, cannot unrestrict

I'm trying to buy something on eBay and it won't let me due to restrictions on my account. I've been with PayPal for over 10 years and can't a good reason for them to do this.

I've put details of the error messages in the next post.

I'm trying to buy something on eBay and it won't let me due to restrictions on my account. I've been with PayPal for over 10 years and can't see a good reason for them to do this.

Anyway, I log into my account and it says "Your account access is limited. Learn how to remove this limitation" which takes me to this page:

When I go to resolve I get this:

    http://img412.imageshack.us/img412/166/paypal2e.png

but it won't accept it as it says "This address has already been Location Confirmed. You can only complete Location Confirmation on a phone number and address that are not already Confirmed."

The only other unconfirmed numbers I have are 0871 work numbers and my mobile which all give the same message above.

    Any ideas??

I tried ringing them but they're shut. Anyway, I shouldn't have to, there must be something I'm missing.

It's not a clickable link, a box comes up saying "We need to confirm your phone number matches your address". My status is already verified by the way.

Only way would be to ring them and explain.

    Maybe you got hacked.

someone might have tried to hack your account and they could have restricted it to protect your money.

i had mine restricted due to such a thing, i rang them up and got it all sorted, have to say they were very good at dealing with it, there based in ireland so use one of the operator services to get cheap international calls, i did it on 0.5p per minute, they were very nice to deal with in my experience and i had a lot of money stolen

I used mine when I was abroad this happened to me. I had to telephone them as far as I can remember.

my mom had same trouble with her account , in the end only way to sort it was to ring them

That's only if you want to register Bank Funding and I'd rather not authorise PayPal to take money out of my bank account when they wished!

If no-one has any other suggestions, I guess I'll give them a ring at work first thing in the morning.

My old paypal account has been "indefinitely restricted" - since 2005. It will never be reactivated.

No biggy, I opened another one in 2005, right after that one was restricted, and I've been using it happily ever since.

    Paypal are douche bags.

I made a phonecall this morning and they took the restriction of my account no questions asked, how weird!

Did you not ask them why they had restricted it in the first place??

They restricted a load of accounts at the start of the year, no real reason that I can see though.

They told me I had probably logged into my account from a foreign place like at work or on my mobile. Weird how a colleague at work got the same generic e-mail at the same time.
