Only just started using ebay again recently.. i see alot of threads about paypal always favouring with the buyer etc..

Question (sorry if its an obvious one) Say i sold something and sent it first class (instead of recorded) could the buyer recieve it and open a paypal case claiming it never arrived because they know i cant prove it? thanks

Yes Ebay buyers are a bunch of scammers. They get treated like royalty while sellers get treated like crap.

    Yeah they could.

    yes they do
and watch out for paypal they sometimes just keep your money and you have to go through the courts to get it released to you

thats unreal, people can basically check listings and look for the postal method and if not recorded buy it and get their money back.. jesus. Think ill keep everything recorded in that case! dont tell me they can still open a case then aswell?

Also they might genuinely not receive it but there is no way of knowing,Hence the reason they require you to send recorded,

Then even if they receive it they could claim something else. Like today I am going through something similar with them claiming a gold ring is not gold!

Yeah it's basically theft without the punishments.
They could possibly steal thousands of pounds worth of goods and get away free.

lol i dont even know if i want to put myself through the hassel of it all now.

Yes - happened to me last month but luckily I'd posted it Recorded Delivery. It just never arrived (according to the buyer and Royal Mail website showed still in progress after a month) so it was taken that it had been lost. I refunded the buyer and sent all the bumf to RM. Got my cheque couple of weeks later for the full amount due plus the postage. I always send Recorded Delivery now.

i ether send recorded of courier depending on the items

Can you not just show a receipt proving you sent it ?

Yeah, it happens time and time again and is getting more common. It's one of the most popular scams on Ebay, that's why I'm really p'd with Ebay atm. It's usually small, cheap items that they try to con as a lot won't pay the extra for recorded...Even then they could say you didn't send what you described etc...Good luck!

Some ebayers (I include both buyers and sellers) are scammers and sending by recorded delivery means everyone is happy.

Proof of postage is not proof of delivery, thats what ebay and pp argue. However, unless its over £32, i never send recorded as i don't think the extra 70p is worth it (for me, on the whole, as i send things around £10 on a weekly basis). I have had 2 items posted go missing ad both times i claimed off royal mail from the prof of posting receipt, one was worth about £20 and one about £18 they sent me a cheque both times to cover the loss, and i subsequently refunded. takes a few weeks but you are stil covered with norman 1st or 2nd class post. you just have to prove the value of your items sent- eg pp invoice.

    hey dangergod where you been
