    PC build assistance.

Hi guys, spent a few weeks now looking around for cheap parts to help make a half decent gaming PC.

So far found a few things here and there, got a good pal that works at ccl Bradford that has also being helping me.

Thought I'd ask here to see if any more options become available for me.

Basically looking for trustworthy sites with good delivery times and good prices, to help build a new rig from scratch, this will be my third home built PC.

    Budget £600

    Intel preferred over amd

Case preferred to have a window

Msi motherboard preferred (mainly for looks so not essential)

Ssd/ram can be added later, so for instance, happy with 8gb for now and will upgrade in a few week, also ssd could be added at a later date.

In the past I just went to ccl and bought parts and built, this time I wanna shop around and try get the best deal possible.

    Thanks for any help.

Also want new parts nothing second hand ideally.

I don't think people are going to find all the parts for you, best to do some research and look for the parts yourself and then when you are done come here and write the list. Include links and prices then people may be able to advise if you can do better.

    Easiest to start here

    uk.pcpartpicker.com

Scans a fair few good retailers for the bits you select

I don't want people to find parts, people may know of a few good sites I don't know about, just assistance. Not doing any harm asking for that.

Thanks a lot, this is the kind of thing I need

Pick some parts and come back for critique, you will get a better response people judging what you have put together rather than people picking builds themselves.

It's much more sensible to start with an SSD and add a mechanical drive later on, when you need the extra storage. No PC should come with a mechanical drive by default these days - they're just so slow.

That new DDR4 memory won't work with the older 4000 series CPU or Z97 motherboard and only using it in single channel will lower your minimum framerate in some games. £90 on a motherboard with that budget is excessive. You'd have a far faster system if you want for a £60 motherboard and spend the £30 saved on a £180 RX 480.
