    PC graphics Card Update Help

I have an elderly Dell xps 420 PC, which I have upgraded partially over the years, with an ssd, extra ram, and HD 6850 gpu.

I am wanting to play BF1, and while I have altered the registry to allow me to play the beta, I would like to upgrade the card a bit.

I am after a card that is half decent, but only have about £100 to spend.

    Any recommendations?

    Thanks

Although if your computer is that old you may find it's the CPU limiting framerates.

Or if you're into nvidia i would suggest the GTX 950 for ~£130*

    Handles BF1 fairly well ( game-debate.com/new…sis )

    * ( amazon.co.uk/gp/…1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1473431391&sr=8-2π=SL75&keywords=gtx+950 )

Or maybe wait for the 1050? not sure what the planned price is on that though...

Thanks for the suggestions so far!

I was keeping an eye out for a cheap gaming PC, but I am only a casual player, and so the prices were all a bit overkill!

If I was to buy a mobile, could, gpu, ram bundle, is there anywhere in particular to look other than eBay?

Hey, my HD7850 blew up so im using the HD6850 as an old back up and it wont let me play the beta, how did you get it to play...share
Card wise I think your going to struggle a bit on the burget, add another £40 ?

You need to edit the registry.

    Try this

Be careful about buying a bundle on ebay, you may find sellers are just sending you the components and adding themselves a profit margin rather than actually assembling it.

Bundles and barebones aren't very popular these days, I believe Novatech still does a few. Most people buy their components separately.

    Thanks for that.

Is there a cheapish mono, cpu, ram, gpu upgrade option?

Or is it a case of just looking for a new PC?

The Battlefield 1 beta will end this coming Thursday, September 8, EA has announced.

I bought my gaming pc from Palicomp, they were by far the cheapest around when I bought mine about 3 years ago, check their prices ? It may be almost as cheap as a bundle

Best bet is to buy the components separately and get what you want to have within your budget.

You may find the tower you have now can be repurposed for the new system and the PSU which you can then update at a later stage when you have a bit more cash to make the update.

I wouldn't look for a new whole system unless it's advertised as being able to be upgraded as otherwise you run the risk of buying for example a PSU in a complete system that you end up having to get rid of at a loss.

Always a good option to browse for builds and give you some direction.
