PC Help - High Temp CPU

Hi folks, needing some help !!!
Just downloaded a program called Speedfan to check out temp of CPU
    Tells me: -
    Fan1 is running at 1749 RPM - Temp 1 is 39 degC
    Fan2 is running at 4561 RPM - Temp 2 is 85 degC
    Fan3 is running at 1679 RPM - Temp 3 is 52 degC

is a little fire sign beside Temp 2 and Temp 3

    CPU usage is low.

Any advise very welcome. Thanks in advance

If you gave us the specs of your PC that would help a lot as AMD do/can run hotter than Intel IIRC.

Also how do you know that the software is correct.

What is the reading of fan two for, is it your Motherboard, your CPU, your hard drive, your Power Supply. etc.

Far from it, Intel run far hotter than AMD (minus the new Core 2 Duo Intels)

not sure which fan is doing which job.

I have a Sony Vaio desktop AMD 2800+ with 512MB Ram
    Nvidea GeForce Fx5200 Graphics card.

Loads of processes running in the background (when I hit ctrl-Alt-Del) but only IE open.
Had a look on Sony website and they advised opening case and blowing dust from fans with compressed air. (Am loathed to buy a tin of air though - he he)

    Many thanks

i use motherboard monitor 5, google it

Mr Too Tough, you will have to figure out which fan is which, It could be giving you a false reading. The program you are using is good though. I'm guessing Fan2 is your CPU, and so you should maybe re-seat it and put fresh thermal compound on it...

If your that tight then why don't you take it down to your local garage. It's only 10p for a quick blast with the air compressor ;-)
