Obvious question: What will you predominantly use the PC for?

why are you looking at spending that much?

The P5K is a good overclocking mobo for about 60 allowing you to spend on other bits.. failing that I'd say the Asus P5Q mobo for about 75.

The Antec 900 is a nice case. But if you don't want a side window the antec 300 is great and only 35. Can take 4 or 5 120mm fans.

And don't forget the Thermaltake 120 CPU fan, plus perhaps an Arctic cooling accelro S1 for the GFX.

    I like those bits.

Yes im looking at this HD4870 as the choice how superior is it to the gtx 280 nvidia?

I can't really explain it in this thread (It's all benchmarks and stuff). I got the HD4850 and i feel it was a better investment over the 9800GTX at the time because of the diret x 10.1 and it can be colled under 40 degrees easily, plus it is single slot.

However with the HD4870, it is better to look at comparisons on Tom's Hardware I'd say. Draw up a list of games you play, and see which comes out the better overall. It's not technically accurate, but you'll get a good sense of which you might see as better.

I want to play maybe some of the latest games but mainly im going to join dawn of war series. I have been waiting like some for the new FInal Fantasy 13 to come out they have now delayed it again unti next spring. Until then Ive tried xbox 360, ps3 and a wii and not one of them really has any rpg type games like final fantasy it seems to be all pc based. Ive done command and conquer 3. I used to play the old final fantasy online 11 i think but the graphics form what you can get now are like inferior. I know that xbox 360 had phantasy star universe but didnt want to try it just in case it was a lodd of pants

Yes the anted 900 is a good case nice and sturdy but in comparison what about the one called ACASE? i think. It has like a turbine at the bottom front comes in silver looks better but i guess doesnt perform better

I usually buy my stuff from Overclockers or ebuyer sometimes awd-it.com. Overclockers aredoing some grade B componenets which i hope just mean they have been sent back through customers not wanting the item.

    I'd say ebuyer and scan.

Agreed, if you were building a brand new one, have a shufty at ]Toms hardware for the benchmarks, I generally rip the guts out of each of mine every 12 months and replace various bits and pieces for about £300 so haven't done a full build for ages, but when I do Toms is the place. You could even ask on their forums (you might need to convert to dollars but it's pure geek out there).

i highly suggest you join forums.hexus.net/ and ask there, very high technical knowledge and will help you 100% to get the best system for the money.
