Has anyone used these for a custom build laptop? Are they any good?

I have ordered a PC Specialist laptop since the components for the money is better... but I can't find their MS on their monitors as I am selling my desktop which my monitor is 1ms and the MSI laptop is 3ms but can't find PC Specialist so will be ringing them.

My question is, what would you go for? Are PC Specialist laptops good?

pcspecialist.co.uk/not…17/

With 144hz 1920x1080 LED 72% NTSC screen and a I7 8850HQ and GTX 1070, 2TB SSHD and a 256GB ADATA SX6000 PCIe M.2 2280, 16GB 2400mhz ram.

overclockers.co.uk/msi…...

FHD (1920*1080), 120Hz wideview 94%NTSC colour Anti-Glare 3ms, GTX 1060 6GB, I7 8750hq, 128GB SSD, 1TB 7200rpm HDD.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, many thanks.

Wouldn’t really say they are. Laptops worse spec than what I just ordered before are £200 more.
I've used them twice, both for my desktop build, i found them ok, technical support is ok too
Manufacturer response times are meaningless, you'd have to find an actual ghosting comparison if it's important to you.

PCSpecialist use the same Clevo chassis that just about all small laptop builders do, that one looks to be a PA71EP6-G

Unless you're doing image editing work then I'd be wary of the MSI one as it's a wide gamut screen and software support for that is generally poor.

Ye I went for pc specialist one just wanted opinions on the msi one as well. Thanks
I bought a Defiance 3 off them at the end of 2016 with an i7 and gtx 1070. Absolutely no regrets thus far. It has performed perfectly well. Battery life is predictably poor and the speakers are terrible but I knew that going in and it was something I was going to get around anyway.

Only used support to get a free game code that I was eligible for at the time.

Good luck

Ye battery life is never very good on laptops, also playing games on a laptops battery drops performance by at least 30% IMO. Have to play off the power plug if you want the best performance on a laptop. The CPU I picked is 96.4% for gaming which is what I wanted and the 1070 so it’ll future proof it for me.

Absolutely right. Plugged in with headphones for a PC specialist laptop is the way to go. The 1070 is a beast and everything runs great. I'm even playing 4k on the TV occasionally which is nice but not as solid. The mobile CPU's are a definite slowdown, but again, that was known before going in.

Well I have the I5 6600k atm which is 87% ratingand out of all the CPU’s the i7 8850h is rated 19th and rated 96% so the laptop is better spec imo than my desktop build.
