PC World voucher £550 - What's it worth?

I've had an offer from an insurance company to receive a voucher for PC World. Before we accept I wanted to know what the going rate would be for a high value voucher?

They've also offered a cash settlement of about £480 so was wondering if I could sell the voucher to someone on here for maybe £500?

Vouchers normally sell for around 90% of their face value so £500 seems reasonable to me

i was quite surprised really the tv wasnt even that new lol, it was in the 3rd year of 5 year warrenty lol, i stuck to my guns and they gave us the amount we paid for the tv when it was new lol

Can you sell them? I am sure they are for the insured person only and will have your name and address on them.

TheGimp, if the insurance voucher has personal documents attached to it to allow it to be redeemed or has specific T&Cs that exclude it from being resold then you wouldn't be able to offer it for sale on HUKD. You would need to report http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/images/custom_buttons/report.gif this thread to be MOD closed/locked first & then wait at least 7 days before re-listing in the FS/T Forum & at that time you would need to prove that the voucher was able to be resold per its attached T&Cs.

Sorry I have no flippin idea what the heck your on about.. no disrespect but this is just a general query and of course before any FS/FT thread was created I'd look into the T&C's of the voucher.

Thanks to the other guys for your comments. The laptop was £499 in March 07 but I'd upgraded to a 320gb hard drive and chucked in 4gb of ram so i'd say it was worth another £100. The insurance company found a similar spec with the updated ram and hd and said they'd give £500 + £50 for a new bag and wireless mouse.

Only thing now is that our Nintendo DS was also apparently in the laptop bag but i've not been able to claim this

Personally, I'd take any cash offer unless you personally were going to use it. Lack of security selling a voucher and the hassle - especially selling such a high value item.
