    People that owe me money.

There is a few people i know that owe me money,I have reminded them constantly, i sent them messages asking if they have my money.
They are all refusing to give me back my money or just ignoring me.
Is there any action i can take ?.

P.s they aren't HUKD people, they are people who live in derby (where i live).

If by 'Action' you mean legal action, then you can take them to court. It is not worth it unless you have a good paper trail, and evidence of dates that it was to be paid back.

If you mean 'questionable' action then it depends on how much you are willing to pay someone.:whistling:

To be honest the best approach is face to face I suppose - easy to ignore texts etc.

What sums of money are involved - I don't mean speicifics but say as a percentage of your weekly income - some could afford to write of a few hundred quid and learn from the mistake while others obviously would suffer from this.

Are they "friends" / colleagues or was this done on another basis?

Any proof that the money is owed?

The main person is called rick,He owes me £100+.
We used to go to the same school and be good friends,we used to go down town drinking.
Hes actually on my xbox live friends list and is online NOW playing bioshock.I have messaged him on there jsut ,but he hasnt replied.
I messaged him about a week ago and he replied "I would give you the money if you came out down town more with me".

I know the street he lives on,but unsure about which house
He has to walk near enough past my house to get to work,

he dont sound like a good friend, why not go to his house and ask him for it?, or when he walks past your house, just get chattin to him, and mention the £100 he owes you

I wish,he only has a few rubbish games (mainly games without multiplayer)

as Diodorus-siculus said, dont bother sending messages, just go face to face, and see what he says, if that dont work. Cause a sence at were he works asking him for money. He might give it you then as might be worried of getting fired, wear a hoddy when you ask him, makes it look more shady

    bring out the baseball bat!

its the only reason we buy them! lol

Sorry to bump a old thread,

I sent him a message today on xbox live i put something like:
"When a friend lends you money to help you out, your supposed to give that friend the money back, but instead you have decided to completely ignore my messages and text, but your still able to buy new games"

    He has now replied with

"dude im not ignoring you,i quit my job so im out of work,i havnt bought a game in months,i just play my bros, sorry man, you'll get the money when i can"

When I lend money to a friend I only ever lend money I can afford to lose. I've learnt the hard way

I am owed just under £5000, was meant to be paid back in a month, but now over six months later and am apparently being paid back in the next few day (that old line). The same person has often borrowed and paid up eventually, hence lending again. I have a few people that seem to use me as an interest free bank. I just struggle to say no when people really need help, especially when my friend was about to lose her house.

I know I will get it back eventually I'm more annoyed about the interest I have lost in that time.

Learn to say no. I know someone who has lent £20K to another person, 6 years on and he still has not paid it back. Sad thing is the person who owes the 20K wastes money on everything and does not think twice about saving a few pounds.

Just had a big of a row over the said 5k, getting cheque tonight. That person has burnt their bridges now.

I wouldn't have minded so much if it was needed like my other mate who was losing their house, this was for their business so not on the same level of need in my books. I will always help anyone. If a small amount I am not bothered, obviously large sums I need back. I would hope that if I ever needed help, then I would get it.

I am 3K down, to a 'mate', he rang last night to tell me how much he had spent on his kids for xmas, think PS3 and a 22 " LCD for a 6 year old!!!!!!

How I remained calm I don't know, I took my frustrations out on COD4 and slotted as many peeps as I could, funny how they all had my mates face1

I have just bought a 26" lcd for the 8 and 4 year old for the Wii Santa has for them. I must admit I was jealous when I went in their room last night to turn it off.

Xbox live great for venting anger though.:-D
