That price cannot possibly be correct. Less than a penny a litre!!!

And you think we whinge about petrol!! Read this: gundogar.org/?02…000

On February 9, ministers approved a twin-track reform, ending the old … On February 9, ministers approved a twin-track reform, ending the old system of selling petrol for only a few cents per litre and introducing more realistic pricing. Drivers will now have to pay 2,800 to 3,100 manats per litre, equivalent to 17 to 20 US cents. This is still very low by international standards, but represents a massive price hike for local consumers. Until now, a litre of petrol in oil- and gas- rich Turkmenistan cost only 300 to 400 manats, or around 2.5 US cents.

I'm well aware they are oil rich, but 3p per gallon doesn't sound likely!

It's true. But there are reasons for it, both historic and economic, which aren't so good. See ]here for a recent report.

    Ha ha.

Can you see Boris ever doing this!!!!

In exchange for advice about transport and waste management, London … In exchange for advice about transport and waste management, London receives a discount valued at £15m a year on oil for its buses, but the deal, signed by Chávez and the London mayor Ken Livingstone, has not signposted a way out of the subsidy trap.

As I understand it Chavez is kept in power by the rural vote - the middle class hate him for his 'marxist' ideals, so the cost of petrol in Venezuela (where the GDA and cost of living seems so low to W eyes) is effectively the cost of transport from the refineries.
But happy to be corrected - not exactly my sphere of knowledge TDH.

    Well, there you go then.
Some people take advantage because it's the only advantage they have.

its not 3p per gallon. it is 3p per 100 gallons!

so £500 per 100 gallons here vs 3p

    that really cannot be right.

i cant belive how badly we are being ripped off and i feel so helpless its jus taking the ****.

Hmm... Just returned from Europe. Average price of unleaded in France is 1.40 Euro, which is roughly translated to 112p. In Belgium price was a bit higher, but the cheapest one was in Luxembourg at 1.20E, which is about 95p.

So, in current state of weak pound and strong euro, it is those on continent who are ripped off most.

Yeah, rip-off Britain and all that
And then I got friend coming here for a holiday and wondering how low prices are... But of course it can't be true

    Is anyone else baffled by...

The order of the list in the first post?
