    Peugeot 206... nice motor?

Need/want a new car and have been offered a 206 by a mate:

    £2500
    1.4L 3 door Automatic
    05 plate
    30k on the clock
    FSH
    Air con + learther interior.

No idea about Peugeots, Decent enough cars, good milage etc?
Moving up from an M reg micra, so pretty much anything is an upgrade!

If it fit's your needs, get it,..

Take a read of the Pug forums for all the common issues etc..

Personally, i wouldn't touch a Peugeot (speaking from experience) you can get decent ones but there's too many lemons about for my liking.

2005 plate with 30k seems good value at £2500, French cars aren't particularly reliable but most parts are 'snap on snap off' so usually cheap enough. Air con and leather interior is always a bonus, Would prefer a manual over an automatic, but still..

I'd be more concerned that it was an automatic but some people like them

My Micra is automatic, tbh im not a massive fan of driving, so having an auto just makes it less of a hastle.

Ive never really known the benefits of a manual over an auto apart from better fuel consumption and bad weather handling (is that right?)

I owned a 205, simply the worst car I've ever had (I've had approx 15 cars in the last 20 years)
Just constant mechanical issues, was a proper money pit, then driving it one day the car just popped & stopped, turns out a spark plug had exploded inside the engine! that was the final straw...

One of the best cars i've owned around £2.5k is a VW Golf.

absolute crap, worst car ever, not reliable one bit.

A friend bought a 206, against my advice, and had nothing but trouble with it.
