    Peugeot Just Add Fuel

Has anyone taken this 'deal' or looked into it?
I like the idea of it as being male, under 25 and living in London with no NCB to reduce premiums my insurance is very high considering.

We are trying to weigh it up vs purchasing a car but I believe so far the price is similar just the examples I can find are for the rental only whereas I might consider the Passport (PCP) for an option to own it instead depending on price.

So any advice, opinions, or any other comments?

Well not French, I own a pug and wouldn't buy one again, might be worth asking what car deals are out there in a new thread or changing the title.

I would go German or Japanese if I had the money.

Well I'm not so fussed on the car really but still needs to be reliable! I'm just not sure!

Just bought me a new Peugeot 3008 diesel after test driving a Nissan, Ford, Toyota and Skoda. It was the best drive and value for money although I didn't do the deal as part ex'd my old car.

have a look on topgear.co.uk has some good reviews, dont forget you can always book a test drive to get a better idea.

Afraid if I go for the JAF deal I can only get the 107 due to my age thus might be quite different to the 3008. I think I might just have to go to a dealer to test drive one and see about the upfront costs and final payment figures etc. Wish they published it online so I could just compare to see if it would suit us or not.

on the 107 they are like just get the AYGO instead, but it got 20/20 for economics...which is good and does 51mpg.

How old are you ? My mate has the 107 and loves it. I had a 306 as my first car and cried when I sold it to pay for my house deposit lol

I'm 23, that's nice to know as I don't know anyone with a 107. Cheers I've looked for the reviews and most are copied and pasted, 5.9% APR is pretty good rate though.

    seconded!

good deisel engines but lousy electrics, although saying that my first car was a C2 which did 75k in 3 years, it then went to the missus sister, and then to her boyfriend and its still going strong (saw it this monring on the motorway in fact) only had 1 issue in the 3 years and that was with the injectors (although it was still under warrenty but didnt cost me anything)

few cars later I got a megane which was a bag of ****, both window regulators went, wiring loom, keycard and a few other bits, all in the space of 11 months.

Cheers...maybe not the best idea then regardless of the ease and perhaps cost of it.

Thankfully I only owe 40k on my house.

I will keep my promise (_;)

I believe Aygo, Citroen C1 and 107 have the same mechanical components and are built in the same factory. There are only cosmetic differences between them.

You can pick up the C1 for £6500 brand new or get higher spec ones new for under £7k (bit ugly though and this doesn't solve your insurance problem)

The Aygo, C1 and 107 use the same Toyota designed floorpan and running gear and are built in £1bn investment factory funded jointly by PSA and Toyota. The facility was designed and equipped by Toyota and can produce 300,000 cars a year. It is situated at Kolin in the Czech Republic which chosen because of its central European position for the supply of parts and because of the ample availability of less costly workers. This is now one of eight Toyota vehicle production facilities in Europe.

Cool, cheers. I read something similar ie. a joint venture but didnt know it was exactly the same basically. I do quite like the AYGO and they have some ok deals as well, but the 107 has the JAF...

Oh how I hate this car searching!

what was the outcome of this, did you take the deal?

we need to carbon date this thread before people go talking all over it

ive driven one, felt very cheap and plasticy, but it did the job and i did not find the ride that bad at all, is a little weird to drive cause the clutch feels more like a button compared to my golf, and the handbrake was a total joke

but if your insurance premiums are that high and you will be using it mostly for gettign aroudn town then i would happily consider one, have a drive in one and see what you think, i dont think they look to bad, and as previously mentioned they are basically manufactured by toyota anyway

just think about the length of contract agreement you are entering into
