The Ambilight series starts with 6000, 7000, 8000
The higher up the better the spec.
So the first one is the 8 series so a pretty high up the order
The second one is the lower 7000 series
I would go for the 65 inch model from Currys .
Buy it from eBay Currys store and with a discount code it's £618

I've never heard of them so I'm a bit dubious.
A quick reference is PPI picture quality the 65PUS8204 has a ppi of 1900 which is higher than the ppi of the 70pus model

Just did a quick check on that retailer , you can't pay by PayPal which is a bit worrying.
At £618 it's a great price , you essentially loose out to the bigger screen on the 70" model but a lot of people have been disappointed with the picture quality , hence I would go for the one with best specs.
65 inch is still pretty big
Have a Samsung 65" in one room which is awesome other room needs an upgrade have an old 55 Lg no smart features we don't sit in there as the TV isn't as good want a better a TV make more use out of my living room.
Silly question but can the LED ambilight lights be turned off?
