OK lets see what the members say.

warmapple the specs you have posted are for a black laptop, does the pink cost any extra?

goldenbrown I personally wouldn't go for any laptop that wasn't dual core.

If you don't mind spend some money ! there is a Core Duo Sony in pink

The other end of the spectrum is a pink eee but I am guessing you want something bigger and faster than that.

Let people know what features you need or what you want to do with it and we'll all try and help

Some feedback on the dell

I'd up the processor and pay for the faster hard disk.

some one else's thoughts

It is dual core and it is free to have it pink.

You could always get a normal laptop and a skin...

Thank you for helping, all I need is a pink laptop that will be for education mainly. I would like to use it sometimes as well, I think £400 is my top for a birthday. I like the dell I have never had one I have always had Fujitsu's I like the sony but at £799 it's to much. my daughters school has just had all the computers replaced by dell so any feed back on them would be a help is there any discount codes I could use maybe?

I've just bought a Toshiba, ,but for a tad more than £400, so I can't help you with your choice of computer

But if your daughter doesn't mind why not spend the £400 on the best spec machine (which might not be pink) that you can buy and make it pink by using lapjacks (which you can customise, so you could have not only pink, but pink flowers, or princesses etc..... and if your daughter tires of pink, she can always have a pic of her favourite actor/singer/sportsman)
