You've probably tried the Marriott Hotel which is just around the corner from the Stadium. I stayed there a few years ago for a leauge one play-off final. Wasn't half as expensive as I was expecting.

Loads of bars / pubs opposite.

there's a funky but cheap hotel called the big sleep that is reasonable - good location too

yeah, i'm not expecting to get one anywhere near the stadium to be honest, they'll be already booked up unfortunately

the big sleep is about ten mins walk from stadium and usually about £40, what date you need?

edit: if its Aug 22nd, doesn't look like they have any availablility

as cheap as possible to be honest, that's why i'm looking to stay outside the centre now, all the cheaper hotels have gone

best I can find is Holiday inn Express at Cardiff Airport - About 10 mile away though, there is a train station at airport but even thats 2 mile from Hotel

There's a Travelodge in Pontypool for £40 but that 20 miles away, do you drive?

Try Bridgend nice plce les than 20 miles away or even Newport

if you are really desperate I live in Swansea and have a spare room - train to cardiff about £5

probably more than you want to pay (at 250) but it is a VERY nice hotel and in the centre of Cardiff...also free parking etc i think...need to price up all the perks then figure out exactly how pricey it is
