    Thanks
What i am looking for is a set with the best warrany package
When your spending that sort of money, you want to be covered,
I dont want to spend 1500 and then after a year the tv is gone.
I know JL offer a 5yr but i am looking for manufacturers warranty
    Thanks emma

If you got a costco near you try them, I know someone who took a toilet seat back, they do give very good warranties( not just on toilet seats).

Tevion at Aldi are 3yr warranty.

Any1 else got any more info on manufacturer warranties.
What warranties have people got when they have bought their tvs.

    Any help will be apprieciated

    Thanks

I would suggest that you check out the 'Domestic & General' insurance website and get a quote for your electronic items. They are very good and infact most of the dealers [for eg Dixons, Currys, Comet, etc] offer extended warranty through them, pocketing some commission as well.

I recently took out an extended warranty on my Panasonic Viera 42" Plasma TV and this costed me GBP 349.00 for 5 years [i.e for 4 years after the manufacturer's guarantee]. If I had gone through Dixons [where I purchased my TV from], I would have shelled out an extra 100 quid for the same policy.

I hope this is helpful to you.

BTW, I hope you know the difference between 'warranty' and a 'guarantee' [that John Lewis offers].

    Best wishes,

    Saabu.

PS: Panasonic's 5 year extended warranty [optional] is also through Domestic & General, but at a higher premium.

So a guarantee would be better?

Guarantees are usually for a shorter period and warranties are for longer periods. The manufacturers usually give a guarantee of 1 or 2 years. Some like Dyson give an extended guarantee for their products for 5 years. John Lewis is probably the only retailer that I know who gives an automatic 5 year guarantee for most of their products.

You can never get an extended guarantee [AFAIK], in addition to what the manufacturer gives, but the warranties can be extended.
