they stopped people from selling long time ago and never even let people know until you sent them a email

Play.com have changed their T&C's for people wanting to use their site to sell personal items.
If you are a private seller, you cannot sell any more on there.
You need to become a merchant and for that privilege, you will paying a monthly/annual fee.
Companies can afford this, but for private sellers (like you and me) the fees are extraordinary high.
So not really worth it mate.
Even if you manage to list an item for sale, it will never appear.
If you see the merchants on there, they are most (if not all) reputable companies.
Give their Customer Service a call if you want further clarification.
    Cheers.

That's terrible! Why do they allow me to do it then?!

No idea. I had the same problem where my listings never appeared and when I emailed/called them about this, they told me that I needed to become a merchant to advertise my items. Unless you are a business, it is not worth your while. Good Luck with your sales though!

As JDavis says, the Merchant fees are very high.Only companies can afford to sell there now & they can negotiate big discounts.I gave up selling there a year or so ago when they went to a 'Marketplace' only format.I was contacted by them to resume selling ,but their fees were far too high.I was quoted around £50 a month & would of had to pay 6 months in advance
