hi all,

need a bit of advice as i'm a little peeved.

last week i bought a bluetooth connector from play.com which i saw on here, it was 4.99 so thought it was a good deal and ordered stright away.

anyway i get an email saying order processed etc and then the money comes out of my account, so i wait a week til today and its still not arrived so i ring them up and the bloke i speak to says 'sorry you wont be getting it as its sold out'

now thats fair enough, but why have i had to contact them about this? they should have either just refunded me the money or at least emailed me to say they couldnt send it out as it had now sold out?

am i right to be a little peeved?? and if so what sbould i do about it??

imo its bad business.

That's OK

I ordered the Pioneer HTP-GS1 as it was showing in stock on Saturday, now it's a Pre-Order and not due in until 9th July...

Kind of stuck waiting as that is the cheapest place to get it at the mo...

A friend ordered a 360 from them at the weekend - showing in stock and delivered in 24 hours - keeps checking order status, which then changes to out of stock , 28 days lead time!!! - he cancelled!

I think Play might be having some problems!

i spoke to play about the same thing befor diffrent item

they basically said when its in stock they will send it

if ist end of line they refund the money

as they set no time limit on delivery they can do this!

usually dispatched within

isnt the same as dispatched within

Wow!, I've just checked my order and it says :

"Posted: 26/06/2007"

I used a £1 off carlberg code and it was a mis-price anyway, £4 is a bargain!!

I ordered a gba game from play.com, opened it and the box was empty! Called them and they said tough, contact the manufacturer!

So basically, it cost us £29.99 for an empty box...

That would be on them to sort out, not the manufacturer...

That's disgusting - did you manage to sort anything out?

play.com used to be the best, now they're a joke like most internet retailers.

Nope, they refused to do anything about it - told them manufacturer had said to contact them and they said its not their problem

Really annoyed - used to spend a lot at play.com, wont be anymore

Agreed......they've got greedy and gone the same way as many others. They'll be the ones to lose out in the long run. I don't use them now.

Keep pushing them and they have to give you a refund or replacement as its thier fault.

Did you say if the issue isn't resolved you won't be using Play.com again and that you'll be taking it further?

Kelly if you paid with Credit, not Debit card, you get a months insurance adn the bank will sort it out.
Otherwise its sale of good act stuff (not sure about its online application though)

paid with debit card because it was a small payment, so no luck there

Told play.com I wouldnt be using them again and that legally they should do something about it because they sold me a product which was faulty. They said that it is up to the manufacturer, and if I wanted to take my business elsewhere then that was my choice. I told them that the manufacturer said, as I already knew, that it was up to play.com, but they said that this was wrong and they would not be refunding or replacing the product

Contact Trading Standards and ask them to take this up.
