You would need a VGA box to convert the signal from composite to something that a PC monitor could understand, think they used to sell them in Maplin a while back, not sure if they still have them any more, could have a look round but I think they still might be quite expensive though.

Mike..

Which playstation is it? And which monitor have you got?

If it's a PS3 then HDMI to DVI or HDMI to HDMI would be the best cable depending on what ports your monitor has.

Yeah, it's a shame that high street stores and supermarkets overprice them so much:

I don't think ebuyer are particularly cheap for small item delivery but if your ordering anything else online soon it's worth checking their cable prices.

The monitor must also be HDCP supported if it is the PS3

maybe he means original playstation.

If it's original Playstation, or indeed PS2, then you'll need a VGA box - it converts the analogue signal that the first two Playstation consoles output into a digital signal that your PC monitor can accept, and upscales the resolution. There's a Logic 3 VGA adapter that is supposed to be the best, but I tried one a few years ago and I have to admit I was unimpressed. Even on a very good monitor the picture doesn't look as good as on a regular TV - it suffers in the conversion to digital. The VGA boxes also require external power, so I found it was just a lot of effort for not much improvement. You'd be better off getting an LCD TV and using either RGB scart or a component cable.
