    PlayStation 2

I have a PlayStation 2 with a few games. Would I be better off trading them in at cex or putting them on fleabay?

Some games may sell for quite a bit on their own, worth checking before you do anything. If not I'd sell at CEX or on gumtree.

I sold my Playstation 2, 4 Games, Memory Card, 1 Controller Pad & a Remote quite recently on a Facebook local selling group for £25... my Partner said it was a better than what CEX were offering & eBay fees take out your profit so I'd look into it. I hope this helps you

you'll get next to nothing from cex. As above, a local FB page.

Or, what I do is sell on eBay for local pick up. But just arrange to do the deal outside of eBay so there are no fees involved

Why not? Better to trade face to face isn't it?

You could try selling it on here in the sales/trade section.

Any particular reason you're against saving money and promoting your item to a wider audience?

eBay is not a message board for meeting people with whom to deal. That is Facebook. Use eBay as it was intended: complete the deals using eBay's system and keep yourself (and your buyer) protected. All the time we see posts on HUKD about buyers/sellers who have dealt with people met on eBay but outside of eBay and get screwed. It isn't worth it to try to save 10%.

But you cannot get screwed, I am talking of local pick up. Not sending via post.

You're defrauding eBay by using their facilities and systems to promote … You're defrauding eBay by using their facilities and systems to promote your item to their 18m UK members and you're not paying for your use of the service, That's not smart, it's dishonest.

Oooooooooooooooooooooooooh, how insulting! Get a grip.

Cex will screw you big time on the price, Fleabay - you get screwed with fees, but you may get a better price - it depends on who sees your auction.

You could try Gumtree - but use a freshly created e-mail that you won't use again and don't post your number in the ad unless you want sales calls, I have mixed luck with Gumtree, I don't think that many people use it though.

Keep the PS2. You can play great PS1/PS2 games.
    Look at PS1 games such as;
    X-Men vs Street Fighter
    Marvel vs Capcom
    Jackie Chan Stuntmaster
    etc

Why not put it on here?

I'm interested if you do, let me know

Having just priced up all my PS2 games, there is absolutely zero point in sending them to CEX. Even the "rarer" games that trade for £5+ have a trade in under £1. Even then, if I was to do that, the time it would take to process them, the temptation to take them to the charity shop instead is pretty compelling. I bet you'd end up with more money if you took it to your local car boot and sold it there. If not, a local Facebook group would be best.
