Playstation 3 slim 120gb £194.99 @ currys

Found 10th Nov 2009
Hi, I noticed the super deals for the games consoles @ sainsburys and realised that you can get the Playstation 3 120gb console price matched at currys or pc world if its local to your sainsburys store.

Not only will they price match the item but they will also give you 10% of the difference too, so thats -

currys price £249.99 - sainsburys price £199.99 = £50 difference

10% of the difference = £5.00

Price match @ £199.99 - £5.00 = £194.99 !!!

I know its only a fiver extra off the price, but with every one feeling the pinch at the moment, five pound is five pounds after all.

I have used the currys price match on numerous occasions and saved a little extra on top deals, if they dont have the console your after in currys, try pc world as they are the same company, on experience, the staff sometimes get a little arsy but who cares once youve paid and walked out of the door playing them at their own game lol.

Hope this helps some one out, best wishes and good luck!

I am unsure about this but if you can get them to match the offer online, eg, they give you a code to price match it, there may also be the possibility of quidco @ 3% too, dont hold me to this, but it may be possible to get an extra £5.85 off making it £189.14, but i wouldnt hold my breath on it coming off..........

Don't you have to go to CS to complete the deal online, thus stopping you using Quidco?

I'm sure someone said on another thread earlier that Currys don't class Sainsburys as one of their competitors, therefore won't price match them. Don't know if it's true... can anyone confirm for definite?

It only applies to these online stores:

Argos
Comet
Tesco
John Lewis

Or instore at local retailers

Taken from currys website

Currys Price Promise in store:
We’ll match the instore prices of Argos, Asda, Comet, Jessops, Tesco, John Lewis…..in fact any local retail store.

In the unlikely event that you find a cheaper price for the same product and offer in a local retail store (which has stock ready for delivery) we will not only match the competitor’s price but beat it by 10% of the difference.

Our Price Promise also applies for up to 7 days after you make your purchase.

hope this helps.

or just buy from sainsburys delivered for £196 after quidco

no one would really go through the hassle that is commonly known as currys price matching to save £1

just thought id post it as its still cheaper, I thought thats what this site was meant to be about? also theres no waiting for quidco to track, verify, pay and withdraw which can sometimes take months, look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves, put the pound on the lottery could win you millions lol.

Interesting..I would say that the TOTAL cost of sainsburys is £196.
Currys saves you £1, but then requires you to drive /bus to your local Currys (£1 plus no doubt), and then argue with the numpty at the store.

For most people , it will end up costing more.

On top of that, if you are that skint, perhaps you should be saving those pounds for other things

This!

I blame the bad title and picture in the other thread as I check HUKD several times per day... no, hour!

I saw someone doing this in the norwich currys today when i price matched sainsburys on COD, it does not have to be instock online as long as a local sainsburys within 10 miles of the shop have them in stock, just use the store locator, here is a link-
sainsburys.co.uk/sol…jsp
then give sainsburys a call to check stock and let the person in the shop confirm it with them if they want:thumbsup:

HOT!

HOT. Would get one but have £200 on GAME gift cards so looks like i'm stuck with them.

hmmm bundle deals or this deal?

SuperEd

just phoned them and wont do it over the phone so must be instore only

Hi, After some further investigating myself, ive found it can only be done in store:thumbsup:

I would go to Sainsburys just because I prefer the retailer, Jamie (balloon head) Oliver and all

For instance if you had a warranty claim instead of arguing with some Currys numpty I would much rather walk into Sainsburys and be asked if I would prefer a refund or to collect a fresh one of the shelf. Also it is Sainsburys pushing the price down for you, give them the business for helping out.

Anybody know where the best deals on a 250Gb slim is?

The fat, ugly council trash in harlow will not pricematch. Its like what the crap? it's not your money thats going to be lost on matching the price. Currys can take it as a huge giant. You ugly wretched cow.

Maybe buy a 250-320GB HDD to swap in. Takes 30sec to do so and it is supported by sony wont harm your warranty

i rang a sainsburys, told the manager that currys would price match, as they had none in stock, and asked him if i could give currys his number and when the guy from currys rings him, i asked if he would tell a white lie and say that he did have some instock- he agreed and cutting a long story short, currys priced matched!!!!!

Currys price match isn't a deal as it's available with every product Curry sells

so if this is the case, could you argue the fact that when a deal is posted that uses a general money off codes or vouchers to lower the price, that can be used on any item on a website, that this is no longer classed as a deal as you can use the voucher or code on any item available???? love to hear your view on ???:x why bother posting on hear when things are coming to this level of poor community feedback and personal opinions, when you post a deal, i will definately be thinking twice before i post again or posting on a competitors site out of moral standing:thumbsup:

I agree with robot. vouchers are where vouchers are stored. We dont need a deal for every price match or discounted price using a voucher. Imagine how bad this site would become. Its bad enough already with the littlewoods deals, but say you find a great deal at argos and post it only for someone to post exactly the same deal but cheaper using currys price matching 2 minutes later.

surely people search vouchers before making any online purchase anyway

In any case, seems a mod agrees as this is now in MISC

You took the words right at of my mouth.

Also the one who actually finds the deal should get the credit for it, not someone who takes someone else's deal and then just adds Currys price policy to it.

If you members want to remind people about Currys, then they should just add that info to the description of the main deal

Thanks for the reply, i think il agree to disagree on this one, the previously posted deal was 20% off all consoles at sainsburys, this was an individual deal for a ps3 which showed how you could take advantage of a pricematch + 10% of the difference to get a cheaper price than what was stated on the other post, some hotukdealers on here were not aware of this way of doing it and wouldnt of known if i hadnt posted the deal, just trying to help by posting on the site, thanks

As I said, If you wanted to tell people, then click 'add to description' on the deal and let people know there. The reason it's MISC is because Price Match isn't a deal or voucher, it's Currys instore policy and can be applied to everything, therefore if Price matchs were allowed, then this site would be full of just Currys products with the mention of the price match in the posting, which wouldn't be good for this site.
