Playtrade Game Console listing 2.3% fees plus 50p listing fee

Don't know if that has been the case for ages, but for anyone listing a console, this is by far a better punt than ebay.

The proceeds of your sale will be added to your PlayFunds account, minus a commission of 2.30% and a fixed closing fee of 50p.
You can use your PlayFunds to buy things from Play.com or other PlayTraders.
You can withdraw PlayFunds to your bank account, subject to a 5% transfer fee.
As you have elected to receive your PlayFunds proceeds in Sterling (£), if a customer buys from you in Euros () we will convert this at the rate of 1 = £0.8 and add it to your PlayFunds account in your chosen currency.

So a sale of a Playstation 3 for example for £300.00 will give you £292.60 credit, or £277.97 cash.

Or just sell it on here and no fees at all

I sold a DS Lite on there a few months ago and found it strange that the fees after it sold weren't 10% + 50p, but couldn't find anything on the site saying that it would be different.

Have you got a link to where that's posted on the site?

not really though, they give u credit to use at play, bit of a con, or they charge you and give u less than you are owed, no thanks

HUKD is the way to go with selling things:-D I like the whole concept of actually 'speaking' to the seller, the communications are much easier, no fees and still i have not been scammed:)

But get screwed down to a ridiculous price

Just had a look at 80GB PS3s on play, and the cheapest complete one is going for £189.99 (so £185.12 play credit or £175.86 cash). You'd be lucky to get more than that on here, for the console on it's own.

its 6 and half a dozen, for the hassle its easier selling on here for £165, thats what i was offered for my 80gb

so you'd rather fund the giant that is play? than help out another person, and make an extra tenner!

well...yeah...do you want to swap a £20 note for my tenner?

I just put it as an alternative to people listing on ebay, ok, so you won't have to pay fees here, but then, you won't be covered if it breaks tomorrow, is a tenner worth the hassle in the long run??
