Please can someone give me some advice on this bike?

Is this bike such a bargain that it's worth paying £52 for to put away for 6 months or is this a standard price for such a bike?

Also, would it be a problem if I get them to put it together now, even though it's not going to be used for 6 months (such as going rusty or something)?

Any advice will be GREATLY appreciated and rep will be left, Thanks!!!

Put it in loft and give all the chrome parts a spray with some fs360, get it in most motorbike shops.
Will keep the chrome good till the summer, use it on my motorbikes, works a treat.

girls bmx bikes generally arent that common, but halfords always have offers and there will be other bmx bikes at this price nearer christmas. you dont need to buy it and take it away, reserve it and have Halfords store it in their warehouse for the year. You be suprised at how many people do this. trust me.....i know.

they will store it in the box. they will build it the day before you are due to collect, or maybe even the morning of the day you collect. You just tell them you want to reserve it to collect on (insert your chosen date) pay them either a deposit or the full price. they will create an account, take some details and give you a statement and receipt of your payment. keep those safe...and remember to go back to collect
I worked 10years for Halfords and we would often have people in january sales reserve bikes for the next christmas.

    Cool! Thanks for that

Could I just put a deposit of £5, incase I find something better in the meantime? Or what do you think would be the minimum I would have to put down? Or am I like signing a contract saying that I HAVE to buy?

    Really appreciating your input

The website seems to be taking the 10% off the bike already for some reason (won't complain :giggle:)

    Aww, thanks again, really.

Erm... Please can I just ask you one more thing?

Would I be better off spending more money on a 'better' bike? It would only be for casual use but I will be looking to keep it for 2 years plus, so is there some specs I should be looking out for? I am literally only going for this bike because it seems cheap, right size and it's pink - what more could a little girl ask? :giggle:

the bike should easily last 2 years provided its looked after. And to be honest, you could spend £100 not have anything better. Spec wise, the only thing to look for is the brakes, it comes with vbrakes so will be fine. Some bmx's come with caliper or u brakes, and although these are decent on higher end bikes, on bikes this price they tend to be of poor quality and perform quite badly. If you going to have cheap brakes, they are better to be v-type.
And i doubt you will find many pink bmx's lol so i would snap it up.

    Does it have wheels? Yep
Does it have a chain? Yep
    Does it have pedals? Yep
    Does it have brakes? Yep
    Does it have handlebars? Yep

Then I would assume, for £52, it is a bike and if you can afford it, buy it.

ask your local store if they can have it transferred in. if a member of staff stays close to the other store they most likely will do it.
