I recently bought a hd dvd player from asda and a hd dvd cable, to link up to my new hd ready tv, i set it all up correct and everything then bought a few hd films, and when i put them in the player it says loading and the says bad disk or err. I have told asda but because i no longer have my receipt and it wasn't a duraband player they say they cant do anything and don't no what is wrong, can anyone please help???

what make is it, ive had replacements for broken stuff with no reciept direct from the manufacturer bypassing the shop i bought it in completely, last thing was a foreign cello dvd player, did some searchin and found out who distributes them over here, few snotty emails and they sent me a brand new one:thumbsup:

What model is it? Also did you pay by card as you may be able to use a statement as proof of purchase date.

it is a bush one but no shengis i paid cash, thanks to you both x

are you sure its a HD DVD player and not a HDMI upscaling player? HD DVDs wont play in an upscaler, and would probably come up with that sort of error message.

I can't remember ASDA selling HD DVD players tbh.

yes it says hdmi upscaling, but when i bought it in the shop i asked if they played hd dvds to be safe and they said yes, so i guess there is nothing i can do as it is not faulty x

aye was gonna say havent seen em in asda and sainsburies had some VERY misleadingly labelled 'upscalers' on sale once, i know people who bought them cos the box said hd ready then had to return them!!!
