    Please Help: Big Computer Problems!!!

    Basically this is the story

    I have a Toshiba Satellite L300-1AQ

My laptop recently had a hardware failure and was not allowing me to boot it up. Therefore, i decided to re-install vista, not realising that my laptop did not come with a vista cd as it was pre-installed on my laptop. So, i have accidentally installed vista, that is meant for Dell laptops only, onto my Toshiba Laptop.

Also i do not have any recovery discs. Does anyone know how i can restore my laptop to its original settings. Please

best thing to do is get a copy of Vista, download one if needs be.

Install it, then download drivers etc off the toshiba wesbite

Will any copy of vista do or does it have to be specific??

    ]Driver page

Save what you need to a USB drive and copy it over.

    Essentially what you need is:
    LAN driver
    Wireless lan driver
    Display adapter
    Chipset driver
    Audio (multimedia?) driver

Download the files from the site and then run them on the laptop. Should be fine. Anything else you need, check the site i quoted.

Edit: Just as a side note, if you installed a new OS over your old one, getting anything back will be a pain. If you lost documents/pictures it might be worth trying to go down a file recovery route, but if all you lost was settings etc just carry on with a fresh install. Also vista sucks, upgrade to Win7

no need to download another copy of Vista, just go the the Tosh website (on another pc if you have one or get a mate to do it) and download the drivers, install them, jobs a goodun
if you are still in warenty tosh may mail you a disk with them on
