Please Help - Hot Deal? Samsung R530-JA02UK for £449 delivered???

I'm after some advice from the techies on HUKD!

I'm looking for a laptop around for £400 mark- possibly pushing the budget up to £450 if it is worth it. I dont need the machine for gaming but would like something that will last a few years and offer quick performance and handle multi tasking easily. Ifit looks the part too, thats a nice bonus.

I have managed to find the Samsung R530-JA02UK (red/silver) for £449 delivered (4Gb/500Gb HDD, 2.2Ghz). The spec seems very good- although if it has not got one of the i3/i5/i7 processors, the Pentium Dual Core T4400 seems to be a reasonably strong performer.

To me- it looks like a lot of computer for the price, but I'd really appreciate some advice. I really don't want to go over £450 so any suggested alternatives under that price would be welcome too.

If your not playing games any laptop bought today will last a few years

Thanks, although I'm not sure that's strictly true- I've made the mistake of buying a cheap-as-possible computer before and within 6 months it crawled along at a snails pace. I want a machine that can handle having numerous windows open at once, quick start-up and will keep up with new application releases for the next few years.

Advice on recommended models at a good price would be really gratefully received

Alternatively I can get the lower spec JA01UK (320Gb HDD/4Gb RAM/2.1 GHz Processor) for £408. Black casing though... doesn't look as flash!

Ok, bit of info for you to consider.

I am not sure about this model, but I think the 500 series has the mac style keyboard, but it is not very good, quite awkward to get used to, and I have been typing professionally for 9 years.

Samsung's R580 (model up I think) does not come with any recovery media, neither does it allow you to create it, which is very weird. They will supply you with discs but its about £20

The rest is great, good spec, the 4400 processor will hurry through all the tasks with ease.
