Hi Im here again, looking for a short family break (mid-week).

Here goes !
Im looking for a short family break but am totally undecided what to do. I want us to go somewhere different, am thinking Legoland or Thorpe Park (my kids are 7 and 10 so unsure which place is best ).

I want to go on either wed 31st March or Thurs 1st April to beat the half term rush. Definatley stay over a night or 2 .

I've looked at Premier Inn, Holiday Inn and Travellodge whcih I think are near by but I really am rubbish at knowing where places are so have no idea which are closest ect . The ones I looked at are a rip off other than Travelodge (but doesn;t include any extras).

i've looked at a 2 night deal with Legoland (2nd day free) that came to about £276 which seemed quite reasonable but ideally I would like to use my clubcard deals to buy tickets .

Im looking for reccomendations really and the cheapest way to do it (of course!). I am pulling my hair out as I don;t want to get ripped off but want to have a good couple days, without spending a fortune ! Rep will be given to all, thanks in advance.

Another option is stopping somewhere inbetween Thorpe Park and Legoland, has anybody ever done this ?

Some schools are on holiday as its Easter that weekend, cant you choose a different date it would be better.?

You could try break free holidays and go to a caravan park near to the attraction, they start at £60 for three nights

No because I work in an out of school club so over the holidays I do really long hours I booked those days because I can get a block off as I get the friday, Monday and Tuesday off anyway
(without booking) so I don't have to use my holiday days.

My children don't actually break up until the Thursday so i was gonna take them out of school for that day, I thought it would be quieter if I did it before Good Friday, perhaps travel home on that day (early to avoid traffic !! )

Thanks i will look at them, Ive never heard of it !

1) Go to Google maps: maps.google.co.uk/map…=wl

2) Select "Get Directions" in the top left

3) Next to A put the postcode of Legoland or Thorpe Park (copy and paste it from their web sites)

4) Next to B put the postcode of any hotel you are interested in (again copy and paste from web site)

5) Press the "Get directions" button and it tells you how far they are apart, and shows the route to get their on the map

Brilliant thanks I'll look at this

Google can also help you FIND hotels near by.

1) Go to google UK - google.co.uk/

2) In the search field put "Premier Inn legoland" (without quotes) and search

3) The search results are displayed, but now select "Maps" near the top.

4) A map will be shown around the Legoland area with lots of red "dots" with a letter in each A, B, C etc, showing where each Premier Inn hotel is.

5) Hover the mouse over each red dot (DONT select) and it tells you where each hotel is.

You can do a similar search with other hotel chains

The Premier Inn web site can also tell you how far hotels are from Legoland (other hotel sites can probably do the same)

1) Go to the Premier Inn web site premierinn.com/en/

2) Select "Book a hotel" near the top

3) A map of the UK is shown. In the "Quick Search" area above the map put Legoland and press "Find Hotels"

4) If you select "List View" it shows you the hotels, nearest first, and gives the distance in miles.

5) If you select "Map View" then you get a map showng where the hotels are (you may need to zoom out to see them all)

Thanks your really helpful guilbert53. I'll go through them with OH when he gets here later, he'll be driving so he needs to make final decision. Rep left

Another quick question , does anybody know whether you can use your tesco clubcard vouchers with the 2 for 1 vouchers you can get ?

Many schools break up 26th March so you won't necessarily be beating the rush.
