Try Caps Lock first, common error.

    will try now

Found this don't know if it works though

This just happend to me yesterday and got it fixed...
Restart your computer, first screen, hold down F8, a screen will pop up, select safe mode with the arrows and once that is done, you want to login as Administrator without a password and then hit ENTER. It will get into your computer in the safe mode and now you can go to the START menu n then to the CONTROL PANEL and go to user names and passwords and change your password & wa la!

If you don't know the password there is not much you can do apart from reinstall a fresh copy of windows on it...

what operating system are you using windows 7 vista xp ?

"Caps Lock"? I would have though it would be "Fluffy" or "Beiber"

if you have only had it 2 days and it has little data on it, you could just do a system recovery/restore, if it came with it set-up or a disc, you will lose all personal data though if it is on the c:\drive

    Try "password"

you would use recovery dvd 1, this will bring it back to the condition it was when you purchased it or you could follow the instructions above if you feel up to it.

personally if you've only had it 2 days and haven't anything to lose, I would go the recovery route

i will try the recovery disc , see if that can help, thanks

it might be better to re install the operating system if you are not sure of how to reset things. pop dvd 1 in and re boot the laptop and you will be given a list of options and tell me what you see i can help talk you through it

On a side note, assuming she is fairly young there is now way on earth I'd let my daughter have her laptop password protected that I didn't know.

iv pressed f8 and it says , repair your comptuer , safe mode, safe mode with networking , safe mode with command prompt
enable boot logging, enable low-resolution video , last know good configuration, directory mode, disable automatic restart on system failure , disable driver signature enforcement and start windows normally, iv tryed pressing the safe mode ones and it starts loading files and then takes me to the passwrod screen agin, which do i need to do ?

    no that not working ,

Have you tried the password but with common mistypes?

Accidentally hitting 'N' instead of 'M' and that type of thing, basically keys near the ones she would press to type the correct password. Chances are she hit one key wrong when entering it the first time.

go to safe mode and see if it is in the admin account if so you should be able to change the user(daughters) password
