EDIT
Your interest was overwhelming, yet, I'm still looking on my walls, because I wasn't able to find a comedy worth watching. My taste for comedy may seem weird to most, however, what I want was only a movie that keep the things simple. Many of you tried to change this, teaching me how to laugh while there was nothing funny. But is hard for me to change my old habits. Otherwise, I'm sure that some of you, got inspired from these suggestions. That's why I ask you to share here, any movie title, by any kind, that touched you, that was special, that can help the rest of us to discover a hidden gem. What do you think? I will be back in comments with a couple of movies that impressed me too.

ORIGINAL POST WAS BELOW:
I know, long story and I can't keep it shorter. De gustibus, non disputandum, but I will be very grateful to someone who understand my taste and give me some good comedy movies recommendations, but please, based on this kind of taste. I use Google to search for movie tops and I find countless number of lists and discussion, yet, all of them looks to be so far by my expectations. It seems that people laugh if you show them a finger, while they are not bother to smile at least for what makes me laughing with tears. I am pretty sure that some of us recommend boring comedies just to look smarter than the others, same with abstract art.
I don't like too old movies, forgive my ignorance, I tried a couple and been a wasting of time. Monty Python, Airplane, Safety Last, Chaplin (except Modern Times), doesn't makes me laugh, if is not your case, I'm happy for you. I don't enjoy nothing like Big Mamma and Bad Boys and stuff. I don't like action movies at all and I hate when they come disguised in comedies. Same with sports movies. Not enjoying horror comedy neither (black humour), or teen comedy (not even teens in my household does). No Sex and the City, no Bridget Jones please.
Here are my favourites:
Mr Bean series, and Bean movie, along with his Holiday. I don't like Black Adder nor Johnny English.
Duplex.
Meet the Parents and Fockers, not Little Fockers.
The Money Pit.
Fun with Dick and Jane and Dumb and Dumber, while I hate Dumb and Dumber Too and Ace Ventura movies.
Analyse This (and That too)
RV (Runaway Vacation)
School Of Rock.
Planes, Trains and Automobiles.
Deuce Bigalow.
Le Placard.
The reason I like the above is that makes me laugh from the beginning to the end. It is a wasting of time to watch a two hour movie, just to smile a couple of times.

This is one of the most stupid threads I've ever seen.

Humour is too subjective...

Close the thread the OP is beyond help.

Are the comedies that I mentioned British/American? They are, yes, …Are the comedies that I mentioned British/American? They are, yes, excepting one of them. Is not compulsory for someone to reply to my discussion, but if it does, should read my preferences and advice me keeping an eye on that, not advertising their own taste.

I'll be honest, I can't be reading all your replies. They are way too stuffy & serious.

Possibly like your sense of humour?
You're not easy to please

Comedy is too subjective, what one finds funny another may find tedious, as this thread is proving.

How about stand up? That in your leaugue?

Thank you, it can be anything, like Youtube video or a TV series, as long as they're worth a good laugh. If involves a long wait between two smiles, may not be for me.
Comedy TV shows:

Home Improvement
Last man standing
Married with children
Perfect strangers ( the old one and the new one )
Enlisted
Ground floor
Rules of engagement
Still standing
Spin city
Seinfeld
Brooklyn 99
Chuck ( action present too )
Fresh Prince of Belair
Kenan & Kel
My wife & kids
Mind your language ( UK )

There are a few more that I can't remember from the top of my head right now.

I get where you are coming from. Sometimes, it's so important to sit back , relax and forget about all the worries in the world and laugh , even if it's for a 30 minute episode.

I am sorry, I haven't mention it: Hangover (all of them) was awful for me, along with the pineapple scumbags drama. The heat is an action movie not even disguised. Rat race, no thanks. Sorry for your time, these have nothing in common with the ones that I liked.
There’s Something About Mary, Groundhog Day, Trading Places, Amelie, Grand Budapest Hotel, Knives Out.

I like the Pink Panther movies with Peter Sellars.

TV programmes.... Frasier is very good.

Look, not now but long before, I've seen trailers of all of these. They look like stand up comedy to me, just involving more actors at once. It's only verbal humour, and the only thing you get is a smile. I wouldn't bother using the TV for this, it can be a radio, or I can read these dialogues on a kindle. Thanks anyway for visiting this discussion.
Three stooges?
Laurel & Hardy?
Charlie Chaplin?

The first two are good, I should have mention them in the list, but I have watched them. Amelie is not really a comedy for me, is a good movie but not what I'm looking for when just want to laugh, unless I tickle myself.

Once again: I only laugh at Knives Out if someone calls it a comedy.

I would have liked Pink Panther years ago, now must be a retired comedy, I wonder if all comedians died already. Frasier can be a radio show, you don't need your eyes open for this kind of humour.
zworld23/08/2020 12:11

Seriously? Stooges look made for stooges, same as Dumb and Dumber Too. Laurel and Hardy are clowns, I am looking for movie not Circus. I said I don't like Chaplin, except Modern Times that was brilliant.

That's why I have opened this discussion. Here's a big community, I may find people with the same sense of humour, even if I eat meet and they vegetables. I would hate getting advise from easy to please people. I respect other people choice, regarding their laughter, however, when is the case I will say what that title suggestion means to me, if I watched that movie or trailer. I said already, stand up is a listening experience rather than a visual one. And there are all kind of stand up comedians and scenarios. I don't like nasty jokes or movies, I prefer family rating if possible, however I can handle adult jokes if common sense is there.

So you're telling me the likes of Morcambe & Wise and Lee Evans are not visual comedy?

Not sure where the difference between meat eaters and vegetarians comes into a discussion about comedy either.

Okay, I will have said NO to TV shows a while ago, I didn't knew they're all the same. TV or radio shows are the same, they use thousands of words to beg for a smile. In the short movie list I've used as an example, you get plenty of fun with not too much dialogue, and is a visual delight too.
Adam sandlers older movies have always been classics in my house: Billy madison, mr deeds, happy Gilmore etc.

Guessing not your cup of tea?

lol. i did wonder why the OP thought the heat was an action movie. i would never class any movie with melissa mccarthy in it as an action movie it be pretty slow action

I value my time, so I wouldn't watch a movie without researching before. I use trailers. If I go for this: youtube.com/wat…249
I wasn't able to smile in a couple of minutes. It may be funny for some, but not for me. It's visually boring, and verbaly incontinent.
escorttwincam23/08/2020 12:36

I like Sandra Bullock but this movie is not my favourite. Maybe because Mellisa, maybe because there's too much movement and I get dizzy. Sorry.

Melissa was enough to make a dent into a movie with Sandra. But the truth is that I don't like comedies with guns and FBI involved.

Of course it is, i forgot to mention this myself. It is stupid but far less stupid than the WEATHER, let's face it, especially on this land where the weather is how it is. I can feel your frustration, maybe the title made you think at something smart in here.
Watched Good Boys recently and it was brilliant. Real laugh out loud comedy. It’s on sky movies now if you are it.

Just seen the trailer, it look promising, I was after a movie with kids to watch with my 10 years old boy. And guess what? It's rated 15+ and there's a lot of sex jokes in this. Why do children cast in the most adult movies? I can't get it.

There really is a shortage of laugh out loud movies.
I enjoyed vacation, but it has rude parts. Meet the millars too.
But I agree, there needs to be more

The first disappointment this year was to see David Copperfield was an Indian, poor Dickens must be a bit upset about that. And now this... Indian movies and Chinesse phones must be made for themselves.
You don't like nasty jokes but you do like There's Something About Mary where the most famous joke is about Cameron Diaz taking Ben Stiller's semen and stroking it though her hair?

I rest my case...

I you were reading my comments, you should have seen that I prefer movies that I can watch with my kids. However, I said that I can watch a movie by myself, or with wife only or friends, if it's worth the time spent. I liked there's something about Mary, I like Ben Stiller, well, not everything he does.
