Plex Smart TV - USB HARDRIVE?

Hello I have a samsung TV with plex app on there, if I was to plug a hardrive in the tv with movies on it will this work on plex?

No. The app on your TV is most likely the Plex client. You need to attach the hard drive to your Plex Media Server. Then tell Plex of your drive and folders to index for metadata scraping of media. There is a lot of good descriptive help pages at plex.tv

After this the Plex app on your TV should find the server and present your media to play it.

If this is a first foray into Plex suggest YOuTube for some setup videos.
chances are your samsung tv will just play the video files with its own media player, just plug one in and try unless you wanted to use plex specifically

Yes it would, Plex puts it in a nice view and gets the album work, can Kodi do this?
