Pokemon go (1.5gb ram mobile) ?

    Hi,

I was asked if pokemon go was safe to run on a mobile with 1.5gb ram (as the android play store said they need 2gb ram).

My initial thought was it might just go a little slower, but could it overheat the device since its not at the recommend spec to play the game? or is it no problem?

    Thanks in advance

It won't overheat the device. I don't know if it will run well or at all (might as well try, it's free right?), but no mobile game is going to make your phone break by being "too demanding".

It won't even install on the phone if you don't meet the requirements...

Google Play recommend 2GB RAM, it is NOT a requirement. My Moto E 2nd gen runs it perfectly well and that only has 1GB RAM. My Polaroid Socialmatic runs it alright too (albeit a bit laggy) and it shows up in the Play Store. Devices with 1GB RAM can't really have Pokémon Go and other apps open at once though but 1.5GB should be fine.

Galaxy S3 with 1GB ram can no longer install Pokémon Go as of the last few updates, the older version worked on release then they added the ram limit and it stopped it. The older version says you need to update and Google Play says it isn't compatible with your device.

Yeah my Moto E says it's not compatible (always has) so I had to side load it. The Polaroid (1GB RAM) is compatible though and downloads straight from Play Store. I don't recommend playing it on 1GB devices though if you intend to multitask at the same time as playing it.
