Pompey Sold After Deal Secures Club's Future

Portsmouth FC has been sold to a Hong Kong businessman after the club was rescued from the brink of collapse.

Pompey said in a statement that the club has been sold to Balram Chainrai by the administrators.

The sale came after former owner Sacha Gaydamak agreed to sign a deal with the club over cash owed to him.

Under the agreement, Portsmouth will pay Gaydamak £2.2m in instalments over the next five years.

Gaydamak said there had been unnecessary scaremongering over the future of the club...

Apparently Chanrai bought the club for £2.5m............what's the betting he's bought it to try and sell for a quick profit.
