Donkey jailed for stealing corn
Last Updated: Friday, 17 October 2008, 00:35 GMT

An Egyptian donkey has been jailed for stealing corn on the cob from a field belonging to an agricultural research institute in the Nile Delta.
The ass and its owner were held at a police checkpoint that had been set up after the institute's director complained that someone was stealing his crops.

The donkey was found in possession of the institute's corn and a local judge sentenced him to 24 hours in prison. His owner got off with a fine of 50 Egyptian pounds (£5).

Stupidity:w00t:

The law is an ass! Well maybe not, because an ass would have better judgement!

Lol, "we mustafa someone/thing to blame, right jail the donkey"............................... idiocy at its best.

when we were in egypt this summer i was amazed by the police. they were absolutely everywhere, all armed and carrying their AK's like they were toys. it was frightenng at times. but by far the worse was waking up at about 4am on the coach back from cairo and witnessing 3 heavily armed police boarding the bus and dragging the guide off and throwing him to the floor to question him. they even trained their GPMG on the coach while they did it. it was terrifying

:? oh! heck, think I would be cowering under the seat. (might be a funny smell too:oops:)

Gunna start a new group, DLF (Donkey Liberation Front) :x

luckily most of the people on the bus were sleeping. the wife woke up just as the whole thing was finishing. it was a terrifying 15 minutes or so then it was as if nothing happened. it wasn't even commented on by the guide.

back to the donkey in cairo itself we saw loads of vans with donkeys, horses etc in the back and the guide told us if we ever saw an animal being shipped INSIDE a vehicle it meant they were on their way to the knackers yard
