I have a couple of WD portable external hard drives, looking to get a new one.

Found a SEAGATE abit cheaper than WD any thoughts on SEAGATE. Or stick with WD??

Any helpful info is greatly appreciated..

For a dataset of one unit it likely will not matter, but personal historic preference would usually bias raw reliability data that would not be known until recently manufactured and functional units had been in the field for an extended period.
I've always been happy with the wd recertified ones. Got 3 or 4 of them now.
I’ve had 3 seagates stop working on me after a few years, all the same model, Mains charged 2/3 TB Models. Only drives I’ve ever had that stopped working.

Thanks I'm glad I held off on the seagate now..
WD portable hard drives don't work on the USB 3 ports on any of my laptops, USB 2 only. Seagate works fine.
