    Possible virus, please help

My other halfs laptop suddenly has a blue screen with a red warning about having a virus.
At first I could not get into anyprograms but eventually managed to get mcafee to start up and did a quick scan which says everything OK. Now running a full scan.
We have changed his passwords for bank etc on another laptop.
The blue screen is still there with the bright red warning sign.
Is there anything else we should do.
Also should i change any passwords on my laptop as we are on the same network.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Ours has just done the same, started up in safe mode and then did malware bytes, found 7 trogans?

    Dont go on porn sites,

Start up in safe mode, download MSE and spybot and adawre and run everything, then re-start.

If you still have a problem, you need to re-load your OS and start over, make sure you back up anything you need like pics ect..

Start in safemode, run at least 2 different antivirus programs (other than MacAfee). As babyblue says, malware bytes is a good one. I would run another av program as well, in case malware misses something.

I restored a friends computer to a previous week (system restore)

Believe it or not that resolved the issue, I also ran the usual virus checker, spyware etc after

    All is well now

Thanks guys, apparently he was looking at ebay when something popped up. When he clicked on it this seemed to happen. And yes I know dont click on anything unless you know what it is........
How serious could this be or is it more a thing to scare.
Like i say we have changed his passwords but should i be doing anything on my laptop as we are on the same network. My laptop is not showing any warnings.

Same as me then. Then the warning says something about threatening your life? Mine seems to be sorted now.

Thats good to know...my heartbeat is starting to come down.

Does anyone know if i can run malwarebytes at the same time as doing a full scan or should i want till one has finished. Thanks

    Honestly

Restore the computer to a previous date, obviously before this all happened

    Should work

I run Superantispyware and malware at the same time

I'm sure they search for different types of infections
