i sent a cashback claim for my bros mobile, last week on monday i sent it receorded del, today they still dont have a feedback on it, they dont know where ti is, and why it hasnt been delivered, they say if its not by the 15th, then its lost, and i have to fill a claim for compo, now the letters them self arnt worth alot, jsut bits of paper, but as any way who knows about cashback will knoits the proper bill you send not a copy, and teh cash back voucher wich cant be replaced, so in theroy the letter is worth about 185, i think thats what his cashback was suppoused to be, so do you think if its lost royal mail will pay this out??

Recorded will only cover you up to 100 times the value of a first class stamp, so you might get back up to £36. I believe special delivery would've been more suitable for documents that have such high value.

hi i am not sure if it has changed but this happened to me a while ago and the most compensation i was told i would get is the value of 6 first class stamps and that is what they sent me back with. royal mail said that the most you could get for compensation on recorded delivery is £36 or something like that! hope that helps you!!

if you go on the website you can see if the mobile company actually signed for it. (scanned photograph of signature)

that's what i did with my cashback claim just to be sur ethey didn't pretend they didn't get it.

can you not resend the documents the mobile company wants?? just do it all over again.

with mine it was delivered but the company insisted that it was late and because on the Royal Mail website it doesn't say whether it was sent or not just to check back later there wasn't a lot i can do because by that time my 30 days was for claiming cashback!

can you not contact your phone provider and explain this to them, see if they can reissue another bill, i know t-mobile wouldnt re-issue me with a new billonce (not for cashback) its worth a shot

yeah, it just said that the it hasn't been delivered yet and to check back later (it said this for months and never changed!!) but i know it has been delivered because the cashback company confirmed it but said it was just delivered about 2-3weeks after i posted it!

Yep, half the time they don't bother updating the website when recorded items are delivered now. As said before on another thread, why do we pay for recorded delivery when they don't record it? ****** PO can, well, PO!

thats true, we pay for it to be signed too and most of the time it is not signed either!! i now use special delivery for all my cashback claims so far its been ok it does costs £4.50 though!

Special delivery with consequential loss insurance is the only way. With recorded if it gets lost you get nothing back.

With special delivery with consequential loss insurance you get all your claim paid if it gets lost or delayed so the claim gets rejected because it's too late. You only have 14 days to get your claim in for consequential loss tho so check it's been delivered and if it hasn't then claim. £4.30 + £1.35 for consequential loss.
