Do you guys know if there is any restriction on sending a "UK VAT paid item" to another country within EU?

Will there be any local taxes to be paid by the recipient?

Thanks

I have received expensive items from other countries in the EU and have never had to pay any extra costs or anything - I asked a company if i would have import taxes to pay and they said no as its staying within the EU...not sure if this helps

Well depends. How long is a piece of string. If its a gift then there should be no problems.

Thanks guys

Its a new laptop given as a gift. Having paid 17.5% UK VAT, should I declare this anywhere?
