Hi there,

I wanted to burn a Powerpoint file onto a disc which also contains other .doc files. Now when I burn the file onto the disc and later try to open it from the disc, it gives the following error:

PowerPoint can't read the outline etc and prevents the file opening?!

Any ideas why this is happening?

Cheers!

did you only try one disc?

errors on discs happen fairly often, and there is usually a verify option on your burning software

try another disc, and look for verify in the options (if you have it at all)

Hi there,
I tried it on 2 discs so far, both CD-R's

I don't want to use the publish to CD option they offer as I also want to put other files and don't want the dll files to appear..lol..I thought if I just drag and paste the file onto the disc - this should be fine?

Cheers!

hmm, seems you are using the windows software to burn a disc, no verify there

try saving your powerpoint file - using save as- to somewhere accessible and try again

Hey - thanks for ur reply!

Ok, so I just save it to another location i..e My Docs....and then drag it into the window where I have to burn the disc?

I have done this, the file opens perfectly from my desktop or folders however when I open it from the CD it doesn't work...it's an archive etc according to the properties :s

Sorry for the hassle!

hmm, try saving as a different file type? something weird is happening for sure

(not a powerpoint know-it-all, just trying a few basics)

Have tried that too

might have to go with the option you dont like, publish to cd, if it works, its something
it must be something along the lines of the source images or other files or fonts are not being included into the final file (but i dont know these advanced settings)

what dll files?, these are mostly executable so one or more are probably trying to get write access to one of the other files throwing the error,
