Quick question:
Where do you guys get your packaging from? My mother has an eBay shop and deals in dried flora - she uses boxes that are specially designed for her creations, which cost a fair bit. I'm perhaps looking to sell some of my old games and such, and wonder what you guys who also have had a clearout use to package. My mother's stuff costs £2.41 to post also - I know that this may indeed change as I have seen people offering postage for like a pound. So yeah, what do you guys use to package your videogames/books etc. and how much did it cost you in postage?

P.S I have bubble wrap and such, so just like the jiffy bag or the box is all I want to know! I also have a student card which is valid for 10% off at Staples, however they are very expensive.

Btw, not self-promoting as I am not advertising, just using my mother's business as an example to show why I'm confused

jiffy bags ebay and boxes i guess most have got lots from stuff from xmas

i personally buy all my stuff from ebay bubble envelopes, boarded a5 and a4 envelopes, bubble wrap and so on

I find the best place to use is the Post Office's themselves. They are good quality padded envelopes and at a cheap price too.

Poundland used to do a good selection of padded envelopes.

Depends, larger items sent by courier I often use Banana boxes for their size and strength, for padding there is a stall on the local market that supplies custom cut foam for cushions, so I often ask him for a bag off offcuts where I get a large bin bag full for a couple of quid. I then use rubble sacks on the outside to waterproof and add a layer of extra protection, these are good strong blue bags that are 10 for £1 from the poundshop, I either split them open and use like wrapping paper, or use two one from each end so they overlap then use parceltape to fix in place. I often have buyers commenting on how well packaged items come..

If anything comes in a strong box I often save for re-use. The same with decent jiffy bags, although the poundshop again is decent priced for these, 6 dvd sized ones for £1.

Really, I think they are overpriced :?

i save all bags..any paper, plastic etc...i then buy just the plastic bags from ebay(choose a size that will fit most items) theyre approx 8-10p each delivered but i buy like 50 at a time or so.
Bubble wrap if you need more-in the fruit at ASDA etc lol. I save all shoe boxes and flatten anything-its amazing what you can use! i used to add to my listing i used recycled packng but dont now as i think its kind of expected!
Tape came from the staples offer-fab quality..
DONT but from post office-extortion-not if you want to make £ anyway!

My local has Video Game/DVD sized padded envelopes for 35p each, i think it's pretty reasonable. The bigger envelopes are quite overpriced though.

If you're not selling much i'd get the padded envelopes from the Poundshops.

The supermarkets have a nice selection of bubblewrap amongst their bananas etc lol

lol...you just said what I didn't want to!
Thats where I have got my bubble wrap from many times.

Reuse envelopes sent to you, black pin bags to wrap items, poundshop etc for jiffy bags, free bubble wrap as mentioned from fruit and veg (it only gets thrown away and they charge a fortune for new stuff!)

I reuse envelopes and boxes that I have received things in, bubble wrap from supermarket out of the veg boxes, just ask first, they always say yes, buy brown paper and parcel tape, about £1 and they last ages.
