hope this helps lot of you as it has me, asda are allowing you to pre-order modern warfare2 with no outlay, and no details taken just tell them your format and they give you a recept with it on just take that in when you want, i que`d up at midnight for waw last year trying to get out of doing it this time AND still get the best price. as asda will have "deal" on relese day it should not matter what time you go if you have them pre-ordered there yours, go at 8am
also they seems to be not limited to 2 per customer i ordered 2 xbox and 2 ps3 all on same recept
if they dont do a deal what you got to loose NAWT!
oh sorry dont know how to put up pic ect and sorry for spelling :-P

Can pre order 4 games in total, PES2010 and CODMW2 being 2 of them (forgot the other 2). Cut of point for preorders on PES2010 has passed but the CS rep let me pre order anyway

I can see the point of this deal but its hard to attach heat to it as there's no price. TBH you are pretty much guarenteed a copy at midnight and will still have to queue - its more useful for those wanting to turn up at 5pm and guarentee stock, especially if the deal is a

IS this definately a national policy or will I get blank looks????

so go at any point and not have to queue anyway and just pick it up from stock

I can see a one day price war between asda and tesco with this, ala fifa 10

imagine plenty of beer and snacks on offer too when you go pick it up, to make up for what will be a loss leader title...

FIFA 10 was sold out in Milton Keynes whilst it was on offer for £25 everywhere.

Preorder from Game.co.uk for £45 or so. Get a good nights sleep.

Are they actually going to reserve you a copy though? If so, I can see the point in this. I waited a day to go and get FIFA 10 and it was sold out at offer price. If they have a price war over it again, it might be beneficial if they hold me a copy.

or from coolshop for £38

this would only be a deal if the price was known

Or Coolshop, thanks. I preordered from Game with the £4 voucher, £40. I don't mind not getting it at midnight or paying £2 more, its all trivial.

I really do think that some people on here mis-read deals on purpose so they can have a moan.

I got it straight away that you can pre-order and pick up a copy at your own time, rather than having to get to an Asda at midnight. People who moan about having to line up are either being awakward on purpose or dodn't bother to read the original post.

I would add heat, but as there is no actual price, it is a bit difficult to justify heat.

I knew about this already, but I have still voted hot as people could not have known about this.

Asda for the last two COD's have been the cheapest place to buy from on release day so pre-ordering is a pretty safe bet you will not get undercut by another store.

The people moaning and voting cold are clearly just wanting to try and feel important.

I fully understand what is being said here, I just didn't realise that the concept of pre-ordering was a new thing for some people :-P

I went to Asda t midnight to get GTA4 and they sold out.

Thanks for this info, ill be doing it as a back up.

Thinking that supermarkets will be cheap but would either need to queue or would prob miss out, this leaves the easy option to pick it up on release day at hopefully a cheap price.

Thanks very much

Agreed... Some of the comments on here border on stupidity...

You have nothing to lose by placing a pre order at ASDA. Should a subsequent supermarket price war erupt, your copy will be there waiting for you. Yes you can preorder at GAME and the like but they're very unlikely to deviate from RRP, hence the reason it might not sell out per se but will sell out at supermarkets (a la fifa10).

You won't find out the price until 24 hours away from release but ask the people who turned up at asda/tesco at lunchtime on Friday the 2nd if they'd have pre-ordered fifa at £25 given the chance?

Exactly, this is great as i can preorder a copy for me and my lil bro knowing at least we can get it on release day and hoping for a price war. This gives me the freedom to search about trying to find it cheaper and have this as my safety.

Its not a deal but excellent info and ill be preordering mine tmrw.

I agree that it's not a deal though.

Not neccesarily, I live near the biggest Asda in the country, (eastlands Manchester) and they didnt know anything about it, although to be fair the woman was the most pathetic excuse for customer service Ive ever seen in my life.

Anyway, they arent taking preorders yet the smaller one in Ashton Under Lyne is, so Im going there.

I've preorder this and Pro Evo....

I want to do that, 2x pro evo (demo plays superb) and 2x CODMW2 for me and a mate

Is there a knack to preordering off a inept customer service person? ie can you take them over the babysteps of the process involved, or will they still look at you blankly and deny there is such a mechanism in place??

Or were you lucky and got a good CS person?

Is it possible that some stores are doing this and others aren't?

Went to a different store and they knew all about the preorder, scanned the barcode in the relevant A4 folder and printed off my receipts. You have 3 days to claim (starting from the game going on sale) btw

I can see this failing as I doubt they will hold back stock for 3 days on the off chance someone might come in and buy it.
