not really, i would go for the 1, but if you planning on pulling any of it then maybe go for the 10

Guys, guys. Each bond is 1 pound. You buy them in blocks with a minimum purchase quantity, but if you buy 30,000 you are buying 30, 000 individual numbers. Don't give it another thought. They'll send you a certificate with the numbers preallocated.

you still get same amount of numbers whichever way you do it, no doubt some will say its better to have a run of 1000 numbers, whilst others will say its best to have 10 runs of 100 numbers

they're issued sequentially and picked out randomly, I would go for 1000 in one block.

No doesnt make a difference as its all random.

But thanks for the reminder got to put my cheque in the bank.

It's a random number generator that picks the winners. I would imagine that sequencing or not sequencing would have no affect.

it depends how you look at it, is it better to have 1000 number that start say 14EX or have 100 numbers starting 14EX 100 starting 15EX 100 starting 16EX 100 starting 17EX etc,etc

checked through mine and have had one win on a bigger bond and three wins on smaller, one win was for £50 and it was won on a £50 bond that i won on and was reinvested, if that makes sense

Have only won £50 on these. Not too bad since I only have £100 in Premium Bonds.

Like I said. It's a random number generator. It should make no difference.

as above it's about as random as random can be, I'd go for the 1 x 1000 as 1 certificate would fit nicer in my safe

It isn't a case of it shouuld not make a difference, it absolutely will not. Same basis as why you have just as much chance winning the lottery picking 1,2,3,4,5,6 as you do any other single combination.

You're still better off putting it away in a good savings account. See here:

of course you are , your guarentreed a little interst, if you want to take a chance of keeping same amount of money but maybe a chance of winning a little then maybe ts good

my friend has got the full amount at mo and is still coming out on tops whilst the interest is so low, but each to their own

The chances of any single number coming up are the same all round but if you hold a block of 1000 you as an individual will have a bigger chance of winning than if you hold smaller blocks of 100.
If you don't believe me, check out the money expert site, it also gives the odds and shows why this is true.

With the chance you have, surely the argument is similar to earning interest and using the interest to buy lottery tickets?

sadly they have decreased prize to only one £1million prize and now lowest isnt 50; its 25!! but they say there are more chances of winning 25. woo. not

premium bonds are rubbish now there used to be loads of 5000+ prises now there is about 30
