i am after buying prescription glasses online, have never done it before so i am after a place with good reputation, and a large selection of frames as i will be buying several pairs.

What can you recommend?

glassesdirect.com are very reasonable with a good price and style range

Martin on MSE has written a good article on online glasses shopping, its worth a read: ]link

I've tried selectspecs.com which is on the list who I've found to be quite good.

I have used selectspecs lots of times, very cheap glasses and lenses, also 5% discount for cheque payments.

Try economeyes.co.uk/
we have used them for the last 4 years years
Excellent service - very cheap prices!

They are really good there is also discount codes on here too if you have a look

Have a look at this thread... it seems to be the only one run by an Optician, I have purchased before and the products/service is fab

I've used opticals4less - got 3 pairs for about £60 including rimless ones...

Many thanks for the help!

i use specs-by-post - excellent service and very cheap too

I have used youronlineoptician.com a couple of times and found them to be very good, had a few questions and the staff were very helpful and responded very quickly to my emails. I saved over £100 on some Prada glasses.

I think they also have a discount code available that gives you 10% off your order, if Iam not mistaken the discounr code is 'EMAILOFFER'.

Hope this helps...

I recently used ]thinlenses.co.uk and I am extremely impressed with their service. Their prices are amazing.

I have a High Prescription and prefer wearing High Refractive Lenses to help reduce the thickness of my glasses, this helps with my confidence. In the past I have paid extortionate amounts of money to the High Street Retailers for this priviledge, something that I would consider an essential requirement. This why I was so amazed that I was able to purchase two pairs for a lot less than what I would have normally paid for one pair from the High Street Retailers.

It was my first time buying glasses online. I found the process very easy as I was contacted by their Customer Service team via telephone and I was able to speak to a person who guided me through the whole process from helping choose frames from there wide selection, right through to when they contacted me to make sure I was happy with my new glasses when they arrived.

I would recommend ]thinlenses.co.uk to anyone and definately think they're worth a try.

I've used these for family and friends and they have been excellent - usually about days from order to delivery.

I have bought on-line a few times and have found an Optician of over 30 years who sells both standard and designer frames at very low prices they have been fantastic to me and I recently bought Bench frames for £55 at glassesforless.co.uk they gave me a discount code for 20%:- dra08 ...which still works!!!
Well worth visiting their site as if you find a type of glasses you want e-mail them and they will try and source it for you for a fraction of the cost of a high st Opticians!
