Primark, Oxford Street, sounds delightful.

Good luck

They actually maintain a high standard.

When you consider most that their produce isn't too inferior to Gap and the like, they maintain similar levels of wuality with their staff.

Lay off the Gucci trousers, Armani shirt and use very moderate fragrance.

Google it, be confident, be yourself, job's yours.

High standard? Are you serious. Bunch of crap.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Never done shop interview, I assume customer is always right kind of answers though

I wish critics on here would realise that there is not a lot out there, things are desperate. So quit the smart ass comments.

Firstly, good luck in your interview. Judging by the dross that they had in several branches I have passed through you should walk it, leave the designer clobber at home.

Oh, Scuff up your shoes a little and walk in with your hands down your pants.....oh that's only the women (if you call it that) I have seen in one particular store, serious.

Quite brave going for a job there, everytime I've been past it's absolutely manic...can't imagine how insane it is during the sales

Good luck

i'll write here how it went still need help though!

Good luck, be yourself, unless you are an axe murderer. Keep away from jokes, be friendly and polite, repeat the interviewers name, dress smart but not ott, find out what you can beforehand.

Why do you want to work for us?
Best quality
Biggest fault.

They will ask what you thought when you first went into Primark.

Why you want to work for them? Situations when you have helped someone out, worked well as a team..

Possibly something to check for integrity as you will likely be handling cash

Good luck. I've been to that specific branch before. The employees have to stand there and watch customers make a mess of the t-shirt & jean displays and then tidy up after them. It's like a continuous cycle. I imagine it to be very frustrating for them.

I've had an interview there myself.
They will just ask you the generic interview questions "think of a time when you worked well as a team".

Why do you want to work in retail: Properly the most important question.
Who does Primark compete with: Do not say supermarkets like Asda etc. Say Peacocks and other high-street retail stores.
Dress like you are going to work for them - If you're a guy a stylish black shirt and tie will do.

This is just what I would of wanted to know before I went to my primark interview. I got rejected from the interview because they "picked someone with more experience".. of folding clothes hmm..

I don't think they do group interviews. Best advice would be for you to show passion for fashion. They only hire fashion plebs.

Well they do that so they don't have to work on the till

Make sure you know much a basic primark vest is

Good luck, hope it goes well. Whenever I have interviewed people in the past, my questions were competency based, always to get them to give examples of when they had done/seen something, like the others have said already. Link to possible questions here interview-skills.co.uk/com…spx

Keep calm and be yourself

Don't do it! I worked in a Primark for 18 months and hated every minute (I suppose it was a character building job though, being on £3.58 an hour at 16). Let's put it this way, when I started I was staff number 3, when I left they were in the 800's. Just be careful, in my experience they were a really bad company to work for (2006-2008) but in the current climate, I suppose a job is a job!

kelp calm and carry on.....up the street

Polite and confidant but not arrogant goes a long way plus always go ultra smart for a interview with shiny shoes. Go for it!

In the late 70's, I worked in Woolworths. Definitely character building and certainly the same taunts, as now.........but then between Woolies and their rival LIttlewoods stores......life goes on but nothing changes, except the names :-)

The only thing I learnt was, unless I do more exams......I will be here for the rest if my life. Not what I wanted.

I just hope the same choices are available, for those in a similar position today.

Take a look around the store beforehand, window displays, promotions etc. Do a bit of research into the company, a bit of knowledge always comes in handy. Most important of all, smile!

Be different...don't be one of the sheep that answers text book answers.
I've had 3 interviews in my time and passed them all.
Show a bit of humor, it breaks the ice and helps you be you instead of a bubbling idiot :-)

I was thinking damnnnnn this stuff is cheap.

If they ask why you want to work for them just say you want to learn polish
Maybe that store is different but my local has 75% polish working there.
