In the process of trying to get Brother to fix my printer. Its under a year old so ive asked them to fix it for me under 12 month warranty.

Just had an email and one of the questions says if i am using genuine brother inks then please provide the receipts for them. Will they not fix it under warranty if i say i have replaced it with un-branded inks?

Thanks

dont tell them...who keeps the receipt for ink

Probably not, probably something in their stating that you can only use genuine inks.
If it is not that old state that it is the kids printer thus it doesnt get used that often and still has the original ones purchased with it (if you have them).
If not, then I am not sure really on what you can do, say you don't keep receipts for them as it is not exactly an item you keep receipts for, or that you got given some through your company or something.

Tell them you "borrow" your replacement genuine inks from work, thus no receipts, not sure who would really keep their ink receipts anyway, only until the point they are installed and working.

You've replaced the original black with an after market black. The black won't work, now you want Brother to fix it? Do you want me to slap you or can you manage it yourself?

trying to find it now

cheers

Legally they don't have a leg to stand on. If they refuse to deal with it, they would have to prove it was because you used other ink.....and they can't do that unless they look at it. Onus is on them, not you. Jump through hoops before we look at it....sheer piffle

actually the onus is only on them for the first six months and legally they can do what they like even chemical analysis on any ink found in the waste ink well, as warranties are hard to enforce legally, best bet is to return it to the retailer who is obliged to deal with it via soga (with an original ink cart in).
