Problem with front audio panel in PC

my PC's front panel has Mic and Line Out sockets which I've connected to my motherboard (ASUS M4A78LT-M LE AMD 760G) using 10-1 Pin cable provided. The problem is that when I connect microphone it doesn't work. Headphones seem to work fine but my audio mixer software doesn't show anything connected. When i connect mic and headphones in the back panel it shows straight away in the software that something is connected. Is there any option I should switch ON or OFF in Bios or maybe some kind of jumper on the motherboard needs tobe adjusted to fix this?

change the settings in your sound options in control pannel first then try it, not in you audio mixing software.

changed setting in BIOS and it works now
