    Problem with purchased DVD's

I bought 10x DVD+RDL's from Currys for £15 last week. On the disks it says RW which i automatically assumed meant that these were rewritable. After checking the net i now know that there are no RW dual layered DVD's out and was wondering if i am entitled to me money back. I have copied onto about 6 of them now and feel quite cheated :(.

Did it say on the packaging or receipt that they were rewritable?

If you've used them I would have thought you'd have little chance of them taking them back unless there mislabeled. . .

Shocking! Strange that disk says RW and box +R. Only ever saw DVD RW DL as a drive not the actual media. I would go back to Currys and argue with them ....

it does mean that they are mislabelled because it says RW on the actual disks, kind of like false advertising imo

It says DVD+R DL, and in a box directly underneath it says RW, like it would say on any RW disk. Time to search for the receipt.

the RW logo is on all plus disks
RW is a logo of DVD+RW Alliance that developed the plus format
    does not stand for rewritable
dont think you have grounds for a refund

ive been backing up my hd. Accidently burn't the same thing twice which is why i needed the RW. Only 60GB to go.

I still think its misleading to have RW, some advice for the others.

You still didn't answer my question - If the box or packaging doesn't state it's Re-Writable, then you shouldn't assume it is re-writable regardless of what the actual disk says :P
