I'd phone up sky, i've had that problem before & they've managed to talk me through how to fix it quite easily altho i can't remember exactly what i had to do... If i can't be fixed over the phome they'll send out an engineer & will replace your sky+ box if you have the repair plan

AFAIK, Sky often tell you to switch it off for a prolonged period - about a minute - then turn it back on.

Try fully unplugging the power supply and letting the box reboot. That might cure it.

maybe you need a software update for your box, I know I did last week.

Switch box off at mains.

Press the Backup button on your box and keep it pressed.

Switch box on while still holding the Backup button.

After a short while 4 lights will switch on, on your box.

Let go of the Backup button.

Your box will now start downloading the latest software for your box via the sattelite.

When it has finished downloading leave it alone for 5 minutes.

Press the Power button to switch box on.

Off you go.

thanks i will give it a go

this is a common problem for most ppl, just switch the box off for a couple of minutes and then turn it on again. sometimes weather conditions also hamper the scheduling display.

Shouldn't be necessary if the receiver has been in daily use, it will auto update the software itself.

The update does not come down the phone wire, it comes down the sattelite dish with your TV programmes. ;-)

Agreed, no need to have phone line connected to Sky Receiver to update software, do you unplug your receiver from the mains over night?..that can cause it miss auto software updates.

It needs to be on or in standby mode to receive them.

I leave mine plugged in and on Standby all the time.
